I don't get how you put an "across the board" value on something like a Magic card; it's only as expensive as the buyer is willing to pay for it. Obviously the market is bigger than I would have imagined (especially if someone paid for it in blood) but I guess it's more of a reflection on the amount of money the people who play RPG's really have.
