Figured we could all compare lists get a little buzz.
So here it is OMB Top 10 Underrated Wrestlers Of All Time.
Honorable Mentions: Chris Candino, Bully Ray ( Singles Run) Elijah Burke aka D'Angelo Dinero, Brian Kendrick
10. John Cena Circa (2011-2016)
Cena before I get the hatered of IWC has put on some of the best matches of his career during this time. CM Punk at MITB, brutal match with Lesnar at Extreme Rules to US Open Challange and facing Owens, Rollins, Zayn, even his match with Rusev was good and finally AJ Styles. Cena has learned to showcase more then 5 moves and hasn't been Super Cena 24/7.
9. Arn Anderson
He was the true enforcer and a was always set to be in Ric Flair shadow with no fault of his own or Ric. However Arn Anderson could cut a real raw promo. Go back and watch his promo on Chris Benoit or his retirement promo classic stuff. He was a powerhouse in the ring and has gone on to be a mentor to most the roster of today.
8. Dolph Zigglar
Alright this one is probably given on anyone list. Dolph on the mic is second to none but Dolph has busted his ass for WWE and hes a workhorse. He's a company guy and is always that guy you think could shine and for awhile he did remember that pop when he won the WHC cashing on ADR . I can still feel the goosebumps on my arms thinking about it.
Edge was a multi time world champion and one of the greatest of all time but man, Christain should of been treated much better as a WHC and I feel like he only got the title because of Edge retirement which is bull. Christain was as good as Edge in the ring and on the mic. Captain Chirisma gimmick was funny as hell. Christain for about a 3 year time was the hottest act in TNA and proved he could be a face that ran the place playing heel or face. Christain is still one of the greatest TNA superstar of their time.
6. The Miz
I think recently people have seen what I have seen in The Miz since day one a guy that could of used his fame from MTV and just sit home collecting paychecks from Syndcition but he came in did Tough Enough almost won and vastly became better in the ring every year. His teaming with John Morrison was great. His 2010 run from US Champ to MITB to WWE Champion Miz was one of the most hated heels and say what you will about the WM main event but miz did win. Miz also had a hand helping showcase Daniel Bryan to WWE fans . It still being used today as those two play so well off each other. Plus he is probably one of the best things going on in Team Blue right now. When his hand goes up your mouth goes shut.
5. Jake "The Snake"Roberts
How Jake The Snake never won a title in WWE is a travesty Jake Roberts proved in a time of over the top gimmicks you can get over talking soft and delivering everyime you had the mic. He in the ring knew how to tell a story plus DDT. Jake has been through hell in recent years but im so glad he is better.
4. William Regal
The man is a tech a man that play heel or face so well and could out wrestle anybody in that ring. His storylines with Tajiri, Eugene, Commish, his brass knuckles to the Int title run in 08 and KOTR to his ECW run which wasn't bad Regal is one of the best guys never given the props he deserves. He is now helping shape this new era of guys and who knows how much we owe to Regal for guys like Zayn, Neville, Owens, Wyatt, Joe Etc. Plus what could be his best work ever his feud with Dean Ambrose in FCW is one of the best things you probably will never see. Look it up and see the chills I get watching them two.
Raven was a guy who just knew how to cut a promo Raven who is still one of my underrated favs ECW run with his feud with Tommy Dreamer I am rewatching it on the network and its great. He was a huge name in the NWA/TNA time but was never given his props in WCW or WWE. Raven was a good wrestler as well again a storyteller.
Steve Austin, The Rock, Mankind, HHH, when you think of the attitude era that is the names you think of Goldust he started it all. Who would think that a gimmick like Goldust would be the stepping stone to the era of wrestling. Dustin could have used pops name to get over but he took a chance on a gimmick that shocked the wrestling industry its like the broken matt hardy of his time and 20 years later to still be doing it. Impressive. Goldust gimmick aside in the ring he was a tech who was as bizzare as he was his gimmick. A WWF Title Run would been great to see back then and hes def a sure first ballot HOF wrestler. His feud with the Shield was such a cool moment and he was told by my number 1 he was of his fav underrated matches and could still at that time wrestle for WHC.
Speaking of number 1.
Drink it in man
Its Chris Jericho.
1. Chris Jericho
In my eyes y2j is the greatest wrestler ever. He wrestled all over the world until he was signed to WCW and was one of the best thing they had and its a shame Hogan & Company were the big guys. Chris feud with Malenko and his mocking of Goldberg. Cue WWE buying WCW they turned him into the main event star he was right away with The Rock his career is HOF worthy. He has changed his gimmick so slightly throughout the years you can't pick his best ever........
I know Y2J isnt underrated but to the way I see it hes better then Hogan, Savage, Flair, Austin, Rock but no one ever puts him into that talk. I do. Y2J has put talent over the years which is huge IMO as well. Jericho might have lost a step a lil now but still is one of the best on the mic and is must see TV when hes on with his BF Kevin Owens.
Thanks for reading hope you guys enjoy whats yours?
