More compaints about WWE... This time smoking!

Just seen this floating on the net...

    - TMZ reports today that Patrick Reynolds, Executive Director of TobaccoFree.org, is upset with R-Truth's smoking angle on RAW last night and is demanding an apology from the RAW Superstar.

He told TMZ: "For him to smoke in front of [children] is irresponsible. At best, it's thoughtless, and at worst, if he calculated appealing to kids by posing as a bad-boy outlaw, it's evil. If he wants help in quitting, I'll be happy to be his personal coach."

WWE responded with the following statement to TMZ:

"The negative effect smoking has on one’s health and physical performance was a part of a storyline on last night’s Monday Night Raw. Negative depictions of tobacco use on television are not unusual and can be seen on other TV-PG shows."

We had GLAAD, this, what next?

You saw what WWE said, they are not apologizing.

''Ricardo Rodriguez is the best character on WWE TV.''

I actually agree with WWE's response on the matter.

The WWE is in the complete right this time. R-Truth isn't a "cool heel", he's a jackass. Besides, this whole smoking problem is bogus to the core anyway.

I had an issue with him smoking on TV, but after seeing WWE's response, they are right, after that turn, no one wants to be like R-Truth, especially kids. R-Truth is a great heel, in one night he already had a crowd that was hot for him hating him.

I do admit that it was kinda over the top to smoke around the kids being there but at least they got a message out of it. Like WWE said "The negative effect smoking has on one’s health and physical performance was a part of a storyline on last night’s Monday Night Raw."
"Bring a knife to a fist fight, a gun to a knife fight, and a M134 to anything else."

Kids see people smoking everyday of their lives. So what if R Truth is in the public eye that doesn't mean him smoking a cigarette means everybody has to make a big deal out of it. What about these kids parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents are you telling me if they smoke in front of the kids someone should call child protective service on them ?
