as far as the OP. I've actually had this discussion with my wife.
I hate Daniel Bryan. Not because he isn't talented (Because he obviously is) But because I don't find him entertaining. I like to compare him to Napoleon Dynamite in the sense that everyone around me fucking loves it, and I feel like I'm just missing some connection that will make it entertaining. Also I hate Vegans, so there's that.
My Wife absolutely hates Daniel Bryan. She's a casual fan, says that he bores her to tears, and the only thing he is good at is getting his ass kicked and putting the other guy over. She also thinks he's far too scrawny to be a believable champ, and uses the UFC as her example. the idea of whether or not the Welterweight (I think that's the spelling) Champ could take out the Heavyweight champ, or if, as in Boxing and Amateur Wrestling, that weight class is there for a reason.
As for me? No, after a certain amount, I don't think it matters how talented you are, if the other guy is close to your talent, and double your size, in real life you're gonna get your ass kicked, Hard. At least, that has always been my belief. and as-such, I have a hard time seeing Bryan come out on top. On the other hand, in wrestling we have the great tradition of the Giant Slayer. (The most popular recent example other than Bryan probably being Mysterio) Professional Wrestling is Professional Wrestling exactly for it's ability to bend and break the rules of reality in order to tell a more compelling story, and in their story, the size of your heart is more important than your number on a scale.
As for the labelle lock? That's a real thing, and, done properly you can dislocate a shoulder. I see what you mean about the other guy having his hand free and all, but when enough pain is applied the guy you are fighting won't really be able to think that rationally. You see that all the time in UFC and other "real" fighting as well. Pain has a hell of a way of distracting you.
I like this chode guy, he has a different opinion and shares the hell out of it. If he promises to make less threads, can we keep him? Maybe in a box downstairs?
