For years now people have been making the same complaints about certain wrestlers in the WWE. How certain people are being pushed or being buried, stuck in the midcard, don't have "mic skills" etc.. Some people complain about the PG thing as a whole and blame a certain wrestler for it which is just false.
You know what. WWE has tried to build up another face to dethrone Cena or have someone equal to him for quite some time believe it or not, but it's the fans (WWE Universe) that want certain people to get titles or even to get pushed. Some were pushed and messed up themselves like RVD or got injured like Mr. Kennady and WWE had to make some changes. There was Punk, but his face run as champion was shadowed. Now don't get me wrong. We all have opinions and people we like or what we like. Also many people have thier "suggestions" on what WWE should do or what they are doing "wrong", but lets think about this.
Many people have said this many times (myself included). If you don't like it, stop watching. Some have done it (I did it when the jizz (miz) won the title and started watching again when I heard Mark Henry beat Orton cleanly for the WHC), and some make excuses to keep watching anyway. Lets look at this is a business/personal standpoint.
If you went to eat at a resturaunt and the food isn't good but you go back there, you are basically saying that you like and encourage that place, especially if you have the same dish again. Then if you don't like it the second time you eat there, why they hell would you keep going back there?
Just like when a woman wants sympathy about getting beat down by her boyfriend or husband but she still stays with him because deep down he's a good guy. By accepting the abuse and staying she is telling everyone that it's not that bad, but still complains about it every chance she gets and wants to be respected.
Many of the faces of the roster don't even get a reaction from most of you, but still complain that there are no up and coming faces. It was comedy that many want a great tag team division, but moaned and complained when Teddy long made a tag match saying, "not another tag match Teddy". Or the tag teams that they got gets little to no reaction at all from the audience.
The IC and US champions get little to no reaction at all, yet many people don't understand why the WWE doesn't take most of the titles seriously.
Contrary to what many might think or feel, the WWE owes you (or me) nothing. The only way to get the message accross that you are REALLY tired of this "crap" that you are given is to STOP giving money and time to them. Hit them in the wallet. For change to really happen it's not about saying it's about doing, and that includes even giving a reaction or staying silent. Saying "Cena sucks" won't get it done, WWE has even cashed in on that. The one thing that the WWE can't cash in on is NO REACTION for people that come out, but the crowd does the no reaction thing to the wrong people.
It's about the reaction that people have at the live events, but people at home with the nielsen boxes can tune out at certain times because that's where the real ratings come from. The problem is they don't.
I can rant about this for much longer than this but I will stop here for now. No matter how you see it, Cena still outsells pretty much the whole roster and he still gets a reaction, positive or negative. At the end of the day even though this is entertainment, it's a business.
Thoughts on this? Something to add?
