I agree. Anytime a genre starts to do well, they flood the market with them until we get sick of them. That's what happens when you are in the business of making money over actual creativity.

    I blame Spielberg.

Sony has no control over movie rights. Marvel sold off rights to different companies before they got bought by Disney so their characters would be more popular with big screen exposure and because they didn't have the money to make the movies themselves at the time. Now Disney is trying to get back the characters just in case they ever want to make a movie on them.

Now the only rights they don't own are X Men, Spiderman, and Fantastic Four and the only way they can get the rights back is when the time period expires. But in the rights contracts, as long as the studios have the movie into production, they still have control over the rights. So Sony and Fox can hold onto those franchises as long as they have movies in production.

Got round to seeing Iron Man 3 today.

Great film. The only gripe I had was the way they did away with the traditional Mandarin and used the persona as a front for the real terrorist. That wasn't a major gripe though, just something small. It was pretty cool the way they did that actually.
It was a great film though, I really enjoyed it and I sincerely hope that they make more. Looking forward to Thor in November now.

Streamed it. Found a HD high quality stream so I watched it. I'm pretty sure that it's still in theaters here though (don't quote me on that).

Who would've thought the Fast and Furious would get so much better in it's latter squeals. Fast 6 was great and the ending with Statham showing up and linking it back to Tokyo Drift. Ahh awesome stuff

I just finished watching Pulp Fiction for the first time. It was good, but I wasn't blown away. To me the highlights were Harvey Keitel and the conversations between Vincent & Jules.

You should understand that Pulp Fiction really paved the way for many certain types of filmmaking and storytelling in Hollywood that are commonplace today. So against the backdrop of cinema 2013, it's not particularly special. The dialogue, as you mentioned, still stands out because, well it's just damn good. However , Tarantino was really responsible for bringing a lot of things into vogue in Hollywood. If you're wondering why I use italics there it's simply because Tarantino took his cues from many different types, styles and nationalities of films. Thats not all there is to him but he is a student of film as opposed to being a film student, if you follow.
