    Top Ten?

Stalker (1979) - Andrei Tarkovsky creates cinematic poetry.
Ran (1985) - A sort of retelling of King Lear set in feudal Japan. It's Akira Kurosawa's best film. (better than the overrated Seven Samurai or Ikiru IMO)
The Man Who Sleeps (1974) - Existentialist movie told in second person narrative, hypnotic.
Solaris (1972) - More Tarkovsky.... Shits on the George Clooney remake.
12 Angry Men (1957) - Probably the greatest acting in cinematic history. I feel sorry for anyone who has never seen this.
Sátántangó (1994) - For a black and white movie that's seven hours long and in hungarian, it's such a treat to watch. Hypnotic. Kinda depressing though.
The Seventh Seal (1957) - It's... Ingmar Berman. What do you expect? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JZzPxJhm7s
Grave of the Fireflies (1988) - Had to squeeze a Studio Ghibli film in somewhere, and this just edged out Princess Mononoke.
Dr. Strangelove (1964) - Nevermind A Clockwork Orange or 2001 or The Shining or Full Metal Jacket... THIS is Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece.
Come and See (1985) - Greatest war movie ever. Makes Schindler's List look like Sesame Street.

The Exorcist - Classic, scary, and one of the most intense movies I've ever seen. Despite having no beliefs i still get chills everytime i watch that move
When the Devil is to busy
And Death's a bit to much
They call on me by name you see, for my special touch

To the gentleman I'm Ms. Forture
To the ladies I'm Sir Prize
But call me by any name, any way it's all the same

Absolute favorite has to be Fight Club. I could watch that movie over and over back to back for the rest of my life. Runners up in no particular order are Anchorman, Memento, Dark Knight (shit, anything from Nolan actually), and the always classic Beavis And Butthead Do America.

EDIT: Also, I work in a movie theater so my opinions are more right than yours :P

Missed out this wonderful anime - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anu2IrsUlVs
and this experimental documentary - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNViNqHmnzM

Memento and Fight Club are pretty great Poopinthebath... decent gateways into more "serious" cinema, and a rare instance of a film being far better than the book in the latter's case... can't say I agree with the other films in your post though lol

Oh man, this film is amazing on so many levels, watched it twice this week and used a screencap for my signature... Total surreal, cyberpunk, LOLJAPAN shit. Here's a snippet of the synopsis:

"He suddenly discovers his penis has mutated into a gargantuan power drill. A fight ensues where he terrorizes his girlfriend, and acquires more and more metal on his body. She both fights back and in the end impales herself on his drill and dies."
