Just came back from the midnight screening of Evil Dead, and I must say it's just as gruesome as I expected. Not to give away spoilers, but I think it's just as creepy and scary as the original.

I saw it to, the script was on the lazy side and but the effects are done the right way. They stay on the mutilations and make you watch instead of cutting away, the effects in the film are top notch for any horror movie in the past few years and the last 15 mins are glorious.

Evil Dead wasn't particularly scary, but it was still a fun little exercise in nastiness. If nothing else, it serves as a terrific argument for practical effects over cgi.

Also, I'm now fairly certain that Jane Levy is going to be a superstar. Girlfriend's got some chops.

I have been contemplating her lately and have decided she definitely had the "IT factor". In that I don't know what IT is, but she's got IT.

My husband is going to see it tomorrow, I just hope he isn't disappointed. I quite liked the original

He just shouldn't go into it expecting it to be the horror-comedy that the original was, 'cuz the new joint is deadly serious. Fede Alvarez don't play no games.

Yea it was great to see them go the practical effects route like the original. Though I do wish it kept some of the comedic elements of the original.

I watched The Panic in Needle Park today. I mainly just watched it because of Pacino, but it was pretty good overall. Seemed like it was realistic, but what do I know?

I think it was pretty accurate to the time. I have always been appalled by those needle/droppers they used! OMG, it's so primitive!!

Side note: the Pacino role was written for Jim Morrison.
