I wasn't sure if The Raid would be my mom's cup of tea, either, but she giggled at the ridiculous nature of the violence. I think she was just impressed with the audaciousness of the whole thing.

Whatever you do, don't ever rent David O. Russell's first feature to watch with your mom. Most. Awkward. Situation. Ever.

Hahaha. Just had a look at that one, oh dear, that would be awkward. Shit. Any sex scene I watch with my mum is awkward, well, she feels a bit awkward, bless her. I can just tell she'd rather fast-forward. TGWTDT had that moment.

lol, the first awkward moment with sex in a movie for me was Timecop. Funny how JCVD caused my parents to try and explain the dangers of "virtual sex" to me.

I watch a lot of stuff with my mum and it can feel a bit strange. I really resent most sex scenes as I just find them unnecessary and anything but sexy. But didn't they used to love whacking sex scenes into a movie? Then porn became a lot more accessible and thank god, it petered out

Amazing Spiderman 6/10.Nowhere close to Spiderman 1 and 2.Even Spiderman 3 its better.Only good part of this movie was was Emma Stone's acting, and i'm not a fan of Emma Stone. Not enough action for 130 min or impressive scenes for 230m budget.Oh and why the hell Garfield was playing as a "bully" Spiderman

I finally watched A Serbian Film, can't say I'm proud of myself for witnessing something called 'newborn porn'. Damn the film is fucked up, makes Human Centipede look like a PG film.

Reserved for when Arsenal lift the FA Cup

Well, there was nothing else on TV last night (well there was some stuff, so I was sort of surfing) so I ended up watching most of the movie Grown Ups. *sigh* Yeah I know, don't start. I didn't make the damn thing, it was the only movie on that I hadn't seen, so I figured, can't say anything about it until you've seen it, so there I was.

Well, what can I say? With an ensemble cast you can either get it terribly wrong or you can make it work on at least some level. This was definitely a case of the former. For starters you have each of these "marquee" names in all their usual roles - Adam Sandler plays a rich guy who's struggling to keep his feet on the ground, Chris Rock plays the *surprise!* wisecracking guy, Kevin James does loads of physical comedy, Rob Schneider plays the little guy they all pick on and David Spade plays the only character he can do - David Spade - and happy, for once, not to be the little guy they all pick on. *yawn*

I'd be lying if I said there weren't a few moments where I laughed out loud. Hey, I'm not a guy who sits there with his arms folded, watching like it's some sort of battle of wills and laughing means I have lost. No. But overall, the laughs were few and the cringeworthy moments many. One thing that always makes me squirm with discomfort are the scenes where they get all "even though I have been a bitch/prick/sexist idiot this whole time, these events have changed me for the better in an amazingly short amount of time! Let's hug!" - you know, the "aaaaaaaaawwwwww" moments?

So, in conclusion, I found this movie to be formulaic to the point of inanity, schmaltzy and unadventurous. 3/10
    Highlights: Maya Rudolph; Kevin James
    Lowlights: David Spade

I notice that they have made a sequel. Steve Austin is in it. Oh dear.
