There will always be fans who will say that the Attitude Era is greatest Era in professional wrestling. Saying that it had great wrestling matches, and the most entertaining wrestlers, and how the crowds were always excited each and every night. Then there are some that so the Attitude Era was overrated. Saying that there were garbage gimmicks, and that even though it had its great moments its way over-hyped. So my question is Which era do you guys think is better, the current era or the Attitude Era.
While the Attitude Era had great entertainers. I feel the wrestlers of today are much better. You have better quality matches on a week to week basis. With guys like Sandow, Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Antonio Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, John Cena, The Miz, and sometimes the Big Show. Who week in and week out put on great matches. Though I feel most of the champions don't feel as prestigious as they did in the attitude era (namely the intercontinental championship) but with guys like Jericho, Guerrero, Benoit, Angle, even Triple H fighting for the intercontinental title back in the Attitude Era of course its going to feel less prestigious now.
I feel in the Attitude Era there where great wrestlers like Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, but it wasn't until 2004 that they really got recognized for the talented wrestlers they where. Kurt Angle was a world champion during the attitude era, but he never really had a classic match during that time period. Kurt Angle was more of a comedian then anything, Chris Jericho become the first undisputed champion but didn't reach his prime until 2008.
So in my opinion I feel this Era and different ways is actually better than the Attitude Era. Due to great wrestling matches, and I feel much younger superstars are now entering the spotlight which will make the future even brighter with guys like Ryback, The Shield, Cesaro, Rhodes, and even Ziggler.
Which Era do you guys think is better?
