The fireworks go off as Josh Matthews and JBL welcome everyone to the latest edition of Friday Night Smackdown! Matthews talks about how tonight, we will see The Viper- Randy Orton taking on Roman Reigns, as Reigns competes in his first ever singles match in the WWE. JBL talks about how Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins will also compete tonight- to take on Ryback, and Sheamus! The camera cuts to the ring, as Kofi Kingston's music hits. Kingston makes his way to the ring along with R-Truth, as he awaits his opponent. Wade Barrett's music hits, as Barrett comes out on his own. Barrett is about to slide into the ring, but he taunts Kingston as the crowd boo. Kingston retaliates by jumping off the top rope and he hits Barrett with a Dropkick as the crowd cheer- and the bell rings.
Match 1. Wade Barrett vs Kofi Kingston
Finish: Decent action from both men. Barrett sets Kingston up for the Bullhammer- but from out of nowhere, Ricardo Rodriguez comes out and hits Barrett with a Steel Chair from behind, giving him the win.
Winner: Wade Barrett (Via DQ)
After the match, Kingston doesn't look too happy and he pushes Ricardo Rodriguez as he heads to the back. An angry Barrett is heading towards Ricardo, but Ricardo slides out of the ring as he tries to run. Barrett grabs a mic- and tells Ricardo to be a man. Barrett says that a couple of weeks ago, he gave Ricardo the biggest beating that he has ever had in his life. If Ricardo is going to let him get away, it proves one thing. It proves that Ricardo, is forever a man with no guts. The crowd boo as Barrett smirks. Ricardo takes off his suit, and goes to slide into the ring- but Alberto Del Rio comes out with a mic and tells Ricardo to stop! Del Rio tells Ricardo not to walk into the trap. Rio says that the only reason why Barrett is telling Ricardo to come into the ring, is so he can hurt him again. But Rio isn't going to let that happen- because he going to make sure that Barrett is the one who gets hurt. Del Rio says that why doesn't Barrett step up for once, and be a man- he says that Ricardo doesn't need to slide into the ring and go face to face with Barrett...because Del Rio will. Del Rio slides into the ring, but Barrett immediately bails as the crowd boo. Del Rio says that is exactly what he thought- Ricardo slides into the ring, and he and Del Rio stand tall in the ring, taunting Barrett as we head to a commercial break.
We are back from commercial, and Prime Time Players' music hit as they come out to the ring. Rhodes Scholars' music also hit, as they do as well- followed by the Uso Brothers, and Team Hell No. 3MB's music hit, as they come out for commentary.
Match 2. Usos and Team Hell No vs Prime Time Players and Rhodes Scholars
Finish: Jey Uso and Darren Young are the legal men. A massive brawl, sent all superstars outside the ring- as Uso and Young were the only ones left. 3MB distract Jey Uso, which allows Young to roll up Uso for the win for his team.
Winners: Prime Time Players and Rhodes Scholars
After the match, both teams celebrate- but Cody Rhodes hits Young with a Cross Rhodes, as Sandow hits O'Neil with a Terminus, and the camera heads backstage.
We see Kofi Kingston, with R-Truth as the two are watching Smackdown on the TV screen. Truth says that himself and Kingston need to get back on that level, but they can't because Kingston is doing his own thing. Kingston says that they will get back to that level, but first-Kingston wants to win the Intercontinental Champion. He says that himself and R-Truth will go onto win the Tag titles, and hell, there may even be world titles in store for the two. However, the two are interrupted by Tyson Kidd who is with Natalya. Kidd says that Kingston needs to stop getting ahead of himself- and focus on the present. Kidd says that at Wrestlemania, he's certain about two things. First of all, he wants to make certain that he puts on a 5 star match. And second- he wants to leave Wrestlemania as the new champion. Alex Riley appears from behind, and he says that he likes the way Kingston and Kidd think- but he's hungry for the first ever piece of gold in his career, this is the only chance he's had- and if he screws this up- it'll probably be the only chance he gets. Riley, Kidd, and Kingston stare off as we head to a commercial break.
We are back from commercial, but the camera cuts straight to the ring as Randy Orton's music hits. Orton makes his way to the ring, as The Shield's music hit. Roman Reigns begins to run down the stairs, with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins- but as soon as Reigns is about to slide into the ring, Booker T comes out. He says that if Reigns really thought that Booker was gonna let The Shield be on his side tonight...he thought wrong. He sends them to the back, as the crowd start cheering.
Match 3. Roman Reigns vs Randy Orton
Finish: Decent action from the two, Orton goes for an RKO- but Reigns pushes him and strikes with a vicious Spear which sends both men flying outside the ring. The ref counts Reigns and Orton out.
After the match, Reigns slowly gets up- as Orton is also getting up. Reigns sets him up for a Spear, and he goes for it, but Orton moves out of the way before hitting him with an RKO! We head to a commercial break, as the crowd are screaming for Orton.
We are back, and Big Show's music hits. Show begins to make his way to the ring with a mic as there are mixed reactions for him. Show says that for several weeks, he has been targeting Antonio Cesaro. Show says that Cesaro is the current US Champion- and that disgusts him. He says that he honestly can't believe that the WWE, actually let him into the company. People may say that the only reason why Big Show attacked him, was because he wants the US title- but that's wrong. Big Show says that the reason as to why he attacked, is because there is no chance in hell that's going to let Antonio Cesaro get away with humiliating him at Elimination Chamber! Show says that as Antonio is the US Champion, he will take that belt away from him- but the main priority is taking him out, and putting him in his place! The crowd cheer as Big Show drops the mic. The Miz's music hits, as Miz makes his way to the ring. Dolph Ziggler comes out with AJ, followed by Antonio Cesaro- as a tag team match is on the way.
Match 4. Big Show and The Miz vs Antonio Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler
Finish: Decent tag team action. Miz and Cesaro are the legal men. Miz hits Cesaro with a SKF, and that sends Cesaro down- but Miz is too tired, and he goes to tag in Big Show. Only for Big Show to move out of the way as The Miz looks shocked! The referee tells Show to get back in the ring, but from out of nowhere- Dolph Ziggler hits Miz with a chair from behind! Ziggler slides outside the ring, as Cesaro gets up. Cesaro hits Miz with a Neutralizer and pins him for the win.
Winners: Antonio Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler
After the match, Cesaro and Ziggler celebrate- but it's not too long before The Miz attacks Ziggler from behind! Miz lays him out with an SKF, before heading to the back. Cesaro asks Big Show if that's all he has got. Attacking Cesaro, just for redemption after what happened at Elimination Chamber? Cesaro says that Big Show just proves his point, on how delusional the USA are. Cesaro drops his mic, but Big Show slides into the ring! Show hits Cesaro with a Clothesline- and motions for WMD! Cesaro is up, but Cesaro ducks, and he kicks Show in the gut! Cesaro is about to hit Show with the Neutralizer, but Show breaks out of it and slides out of the ring as we head to another commercial break!
We are back from our final commercial of the night, as The Shield's music hit. Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins make their way to the ring. Ryback's music hits, as he comes out with Sheamus.
Match 5. The Shield vs Ryback and Sheamus
Finish: Back and forth action, Sheamus and Dean Ambrose are the legal men. Both men exchange blows, but Sheamus ducks as he goes for a Brogue Kick. However, Dean Ambrose moves out of the way- as Seth Rollins grabs Sheamus' feet, before poking him in the eye! Sheamus turns around, to a Clothesline from Ambrose! Ambrose then goes on to hit Sheamus with a Hook and Ladder, and he covers him- using the ropes for leverage to get the win!
Winners: The Shield
After the match, The Shield celebrate like mad and go onto attack Sheamus, and Ryback, but that is when Randy Orton comes out and makes the save- The Shield slide outside of the ring. But Ryback grabs a mic in frustration, and says that was exactly what he thought. He says that The Shield can only resort to using the dirtiest tactics in the book, can't they. Ryback helps Sheamus up, as Sheamus takes the mic. Sheamus says that if The Shield want to prove that they are a threat, picking up dirty wins isn't the way to do it! He says that the only way to prove that they are a threat- is by facing them, like real men. The Shield begin to run up the stairs, as Sheamus looks pissed. Randy takes the mic off Sheamus, and says that right here, right now- the numbers are even. Every time The Shield strike, it's when the numbers are unfair. Randy says that this is The Shield's chance to prove themselves. The Shield begin to walk down the stairs, and they begin to slide into the ring to brawl! A massive staredown, but that's when security come rushing down the ramp and breaking up the brawl! Booker T comes out, and says that if the two teams want to brawl- they can go ahead, but that brawl will lead to no match at Wrestlemania. He says that it will also lead to a suspension, from both teams. And a fine! The crowd boo, but Booker says that he doesn't want any contact from any teams! The Shield are exchanging words to Orton, Ryback, and Sheamus as we close the show!
