Good/bad, right/wrong these things don't matter because it's open to everyone to speak their mind and take the conversation where ever it leads so long as it stay relevant to the topic (which obviously our specific conversation has strayed from).
A Blog is more towards the idea of "this is how I view it" and then the people who hear you talk about what you just said and give feedback from the said topic. It would be closer to you giving a speech and the comments section is the "meet and greet" part of your lecture. With what you have said, it makes more sense (to me) for the purpose of what you are seeking to accomplish. Like you said, you don't care about what others think because you have your own specific taste. If this is the case, what is the point of seeking feedback?
And honestly, the Blog thing has nothing to do with your personal life and choices. I have written several blogs on this site and while I have used a few examples of my personal self, the majority of it was only used to explain my way of thinking on a topic (example: I grew up in the South so I watched more JCP and WCW than WWF. This helped me to learn to appreciate the "art of wrestling" rather than the "spectacle of wrestling"). Since it is your piece of writing, you choose what to say and what not to say so you can exclude whatever you'd like. My point here isn't to make an issue out of nothing, rather trying to help you see that the desires you are trying to accomplish are better suited for a different section; this will help you to avoid those headaches when people who speak in an open forum contradict your point of view into oblivion. If anything, I am just sharing a bit of knowledge I have learned through this process and trying to help another forum user out. Of course, you will make the choice to do what best fits your ideas but we're all here as a "cyber community" so I figured to reach out and help another member.
