I think you might be right about the offspring... but I would have a hard time classifying rise against if it wasn't as punk rock. I mean they are not metalcore (punk metal, bands like bullet for my valintine fall here) and they are not pop.

I would call The Offspring more like Rock Pop than Punk Pop

There's still good punk but is mostly underground I heard

I'm arguing that punk isn't dead, so how is Dave Grohl saying that it is an example of a popular band agreeing with me?

    They're a pop-punk band, through and through.

Let me rephrase that. The closest we have to legit punk rock in the mainstream. Though then again could that really be considered punk then?

Sorry, I got you and robstar mixed up. But do you think that punk rock is really alive anymore... I mean if there is no main stream punk rock bands there isn't really a demand for it... I'm sure somewhere someone is pretty fluent in latin.

I don't understand the adtr abbreviation. so I don't understand your logic in saying I'm wrong.

ADTR=A Day To Remember they combine the pop punk aspects with Metalcore

Bullet For My Valentine is metalcore I don't see any punk in them. They are of course my third favorite band
