    I want to disagree with you but I can't really. I think grunge is kind of derived from punk, so you could make a case for some grunge/post-grunge bands. I know foo fighters have made reference to "punk rock being dead" a good example would be in the music video for walk.

    Yes, mainstream stuff is what I'm referring to. What's that saying? Punk's not dead, it just sucks now? lol I'm hardly an aficionado of modern punk, I still think the only true punk was the Sex Pistols and The Clash

    When isn't there someone using that kind of idiotic reductionism to lazily dismiss every genre of music? That seems to be the mantra of people who just can't be bothered to actually dig through the pile to get to the good stuff.

    Rise Against is the closest we have to legit punk rock. Offspring is Pop-punk
