    I like pennyroyal tea as well... but it is a song about abortion, you can't get much darker than that. it is kind of the thing to do... to play with lucy in the sky with diamonds.

    I wouldn't plan on getting into that debate, I was just saying that's a pretty dark way to do that. and I was just making an allusion... I didn't mean that the songs intent was to be about drugs... but it's commonly thought to have been about it.

    To be perfectly honest, John Lennon was one of the most contradictory chaps ever to come down the pike. He was constantly changing his opinions, stories, versions of the past. He was quite deeply into recreational drugs, namely LSD and speed in the 60's and heroin in the 70's.

    I agree, half of the interviews he gave, he was undr the influence of something as was Yoko, that is why they most likely acted so irrationally, alongside their beliefs
