You know Amy Lee is the only original member left lol. Everyone else left her and made their own band and Evanescence has gone downhill since.

Also, I thought Death Magnetic was a good album unlike the Lulu collaboration they did a while ago.

I liked Death Magnetic a lot. It's my favourite Metallica album and I have been a fan for 25+ years now.

Amy Lee's main collaborator, Ben Moody who wrote much of their breakthrough Fallen album was the real creative light before he left. I'm sure she had a lot of hangers on and record people telling her she didn't need Moody or anyone else, that she was the star, blah, blah. Which has proved to be bullshit of course, they have sucked on the Nickleback scale ever since

But Moody's band hasn't really done much better to be honest. I prefer them over Lee's group any day thought but they both need each other have a perfect balance when they write music.

Exactly, I agree that the whole is better than the sum of it's parts

    No Cavalera.

They did have some weird band doing some tribal stuff for them, which was quite cool - Plenty of tribal drumming in Roots.

    Yeah.

Shame, really. She is massively talented, but her vocals were HORRID the whole show.

And she's definitely missing that bloke. What band is he in now?

    Exclamation Metallica!

I'm a big fan of Metallica. I'm starting this thread to talk to any and all Metallica fans.

Debate the eras, the career moves, the guitar solos, the members - the who can remembers!

    Who's a Metallica fan?

I was compelled to start this thread from reading Enter Night; the Metallica biography by Mick Wall (of Kerrang) and he totally rips on the second half of Metallica's career. I think that's a load of bullshit. In fact, it has made me a bit angry.

    Has anyone read this book?
