If they want Miz to draw extreme heat & become a significant heel then have him screw over the most popular guy in the business (Orton). Was it the best timing for Orton to lose the title? In one instance, you can say WWE really just crushed Orton let alone the crowd had the air sucked right out of it. The reaction from the crowd was dead after Miz won but in the second instance, you could say WWE timed it perfectly to make Miz a significant heel especially since the crowd was 110% behind Orton let alone the crowd was on fire for him (Orton) & having Miz screw over Orton would put Miz over big as a heel (logically speaking).
Now is Miz being champ going to be a positive or a negative? Personally, I think WWE shot itself in the foot with choosing Miz to be champ let alone killing Orton's character but if the whole thing succeeds then that's good for WWE but if it fails? Well...to put it nicely, it's going to have a nasty backlash effect on certain levels let alone after practically crushing one of your top stars as in Orton. But hey, WWE has shot themselves in the foot plenty of times. Hopefully, for there sakes they didn't this time because it won't be good if they did by any means.
