    Vince losing it?

For those of you who do not know by now, Vince went ape shit before Raw and removed Brian Gewirtz from his position of Head Writer. Am I the only one who thinks that it's time for Vince to call it quits? At this rate, it looks like he's going to be the death of his own company! We've seen Triple H take up more of an executive role over the past year and I think that now maybe the time for it to become a more permanent one... Your thoughts?

Why would Vince be losing it?

Paul Heyman described in an interview on an old Off The Record show that the Lead Writer coordinates the ideas that the writing staff has and gets them down into pitches to be pitched to Vince. Heyman claimed that Vince is the Head Writer because he's got final say. Assuming this scenario, Vince can't sit there and write every show himself... that's what he has staff for. If he's not liking anything they bring to him, something's got to be done about it.

If Vince has stepped back a bit and isn't blessing absolutely everything you're seeing on the show(which he should be doing at his age if he wants the company to stay afloat without him), then it's even more understandable to axe the Head Writer if he's doing a crappy job, which to be fair that RAW last week was absolutely abysmal, low ratings or not.

bottom line, it's vinces company and he isn't terribly old so I have no issue with him maintaining some interest in the product. I guess if there was more detail in the original post to say what's wrong with him firing someone who wrote product that lead to the lowest ratings in 15 years I would be more inclined to agree with him... but with my base knowledge I have no problem with him still being the leader of his company.

Vince always goes through periods where he goes crazy, but this time, it really does look like he's gone absolute crazy. It's understandable though since the ratings are at a 15 year all time low, and apparently NBC are putting pressure on him to improve them.
I don't think Vince is going to call it quits anytime soon though.

Vince, will always be at the top. He may have his moments but, at the end of the day WWE need him.. He will call it quits when he can't say you're fired anymore,he is training HHH to do his job.. He will shout, scream, fire people until he gets the job done..

Gewirtz was replaced days before the news came out.
It's not that McMahon fired him in some sort of mood swing. It still won't matter though, since Vince has the final say.

There's a trend on wrestling sites today asking if Vince has lost it, it seems that one report of him being pissed off and then being in a match means he's turned into the spawn of Russo and Ted Turner?!

WWE's writing has been woeful at time recently and I'm pleased that there's going to be some change. If anything getting the head writer to step down was a smart move, it'll get the rest of creative back on their toes. Let's not forget, Vince gets final say on creative decisions but he doesn't have time to do it all himself and if creative aren't producing ideas then something had to change.

I thought Raw was a big improvement on last week and the main event was simply brutal. I'm surprised there wasn't more blood actually, not because I wanted it but because I surprised they both went over the announce table unscathed. Vince looked good for 67 there were times in the match where I was reminded of the Stone Cold vs McMahon heyday.

Vince McMahon is the head of a multi-million dollar company with massive global reach, he's still working after most people would have retired. There's no doubt he's not the man he was 20 years ago but no of us are and if him throwing his toys out the pram once in a while refreshes WWE's product then so be it.

Far too sensible a response, far too full of reasoning and not enough head spinning lunacy.

You must immediately go and flagellate yourself with the latest copy of WWE magazine. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Gewirtz has been awful for a while now. The fact that he was able to retain his job this long is more cause of concern than the firing. Last night was a really solid RAW. And surprisingly, I thought at 65, that may have been the best in ring performance I've seen out of Vince since his debut match against Stone Cold in a steel cage.

I'm sorry! I don't mean it, WWE will be cancelled next week and TNA will take it's place with Hulka-porna-mainia running wild all over again. Meanwhile Vinny Mac will explode in yet another nasty limo incident. Phew, I feel better now!
