The intro to the PPV was a nice touch, felt like it hyped why it was in fact called Uprising leading to a good theme. We waste little time before we get right into the action.
Athena wins which is good, I suppose, helping her prevail in a man's world but I'm really not the biggest fan of her and feel her character can develop more by losing and trying to overcome the ridicule and constant belittlement that would come with the loss and how she looks to prove that the loss will not the gateway to her career spiraling out of control. Frewin would've benefited from a win but I'm not the biggest fan of that him either though he as a new character to IWA needs the more exposure and getting the rub (non sexual
) from Athena.
Of course the dick off between GM's comes next, went a bit long but it happens. Glad to see that Kyo vs Adonis made official for the next PPV, Insult to Injury, if I'm not mistaken. Looking forward to that.
Archer Black was definitely the right choice for the win as Scribbs really does a fantastic job as The Star Signs. Black and Violet are a bit more undeveloped than their counterparts Blue and Pink but with this win I'm hoping to see where Black goes from here.
Great Juno promo, shows how her level is elevating more and more as the weeks go along but....I'm positive that her Hardy worship can only take her so far and soon she may need to look for the next step in character development to push her to the next level.
KayFab wins and put some momentum on their quest to becoming #1 contenders for the tag team gold, while The Pardy Boyz are no more. I'm glad Dennis gets the chance to break out and show a different side to D-boy who may continue to be a party animal or with the unorthodox aid of this Freya Rane become something new altogether. So best of luck to Dennis and Jelly on their futures.
What story telling! I could feel the emotion in the Juno vs Pink match. How these two shared their friendship, the betrayal, the weeks leading up to this match and now the conclusion with Pink overcoming the odds even when in a huge disadvantage like she was here. Glad her reign can continue a bit more and though this means a loss for Juno, I'm certain her hunt for revenge over Pink and her hunt for the gold are not over yet. I look forward to seeing this feud continue.
Shaz and Kyojin show great resentment towards one another which that this union was indeed forced upon them and that they only share the common goal of walking away with a win. Given that they were rivals not long ago while feuding for the gold, it was great to see them hate each other.
The Infection retains but Extremely Lethal does give them a fantastic run for their money. I'm glad the all star team of VHX and CAR can continue their reign and Extremely Lethal can certainly argue their way back into another title shot, but I'd like to see them pass through an obstacle to do so perhaps in facing KayFab for the #1 contendership for the gold. Either team will give Infection a great challenge but The Infection have knocked down quite a few teams down and will more than likely continue to knock down some more before they lose the gold.
Am not sure Pamich vs Jackson needed more hype than it did with this promo but nonetheless it was here and was ok. It did it's job in transition to the next match.
Sugar and Spice vs Miss Murder and Red Queen was not a match I personally looked forward to but it was better than I expected. The fact that 2 of the competitors were deemed unfit to compete was a nice touch before Spice gains the win for her team. The win was bittersweet for my taste since while it builds the win streak of Sugar and Spice, it was almost to no purpose given that continuous wins like the ones Sugar and Spice have had sooner or later warrant title shots and right now given the burning hot Juno vs Pink feud and that it would mirror the handicap title feud Black Blooded vs Punk feud Revolution has going on right now, to have practically mirror images of handicap title feuds in both brands is something I personally would not like to see. So unless Sugar and Spice have some medium in which they can continue to have something else to do until the right time to allow a handicap title feud pops up for Chaos, soon they will have to enter the Vanity Championship race and may have to settle which of them earns that shot, so will be interesting to see where that goes.
Good promo from Chamberlain to help keep the flames of the Chamberlain-Dixon feud alive and help create some interest in how it will continue on Chaos soon. Good job.
Trouble in Paradise spells trouble for Damaged Goods and Diamond against The Nightmare Madness. I'm not gonna lie and say I would liked to see more and more signs that they weren't on the same page in the match as opposed to one single moment of indiscretion from Diamond looking to get the win himself and make Damaged Goods look somewhat petty in walking away because it wasn't them who could get the win earlier in the match. That level of mistrust during the match would've made the walk away by Damaged Goods have more impact. I'm not sure if this means a face turn or the beginning of one for Damaged Goods but I can definitely see Diamond pursuing a feud against them in the near future, while I look towards what the future for The Nightmare Madness holds in store with that win.
Odium cuts a decent promo and will look to make his debut on the next Chaos, hope it goes well for him.
Slayde vs Torture was fantastic. I'm surprised Slayde won, given the the fact that people really seemed to be into Torture more than Slayde and in my eyes was expected to win and prove why his ways were better than Slayde's but he may have set up the road for that to happen and the feud to continue by attacking Slayde's knee viciously like he did in the match and making Slayde fight through the pain when he seemed to be broken (literally) and win a battle in a much more grander picture of war to come. I can definitely see the feud continuing and getting more and more intense between them until a proving ground has to be set in which they can truly show which of them is truly the better man and perhaps move on to bigger and better things.
Doom returns and cuts a good promo. Never been a fan Doom myself, but the promo was good and helps further things in the ICONOGRAPHY vs Doom feud so not bad.
Layman becomes the brand new Endurance Champion. Archer Black playing a big part in that before it was revealed that Mr. Smyth returns. Huge mark out moment but.....I was honestly expecting Mr. Smyth to return in another manner other looking to feud with Darius. I expressed to Benny long ago when Chaos was having the Smokey in probation storyline that Moore should've looked towards hiring someone else to run Chaos and given the heated engagement Smyth and Smokey had where Smokey did everything and I mean everything in his power to take the Endurance Championship from Smyth and also was the one responsible to set up the stipulation from which if Smyth lost, which he did to Darius (leading to this moment), he would leave IWA, I believed Moore would look to make Smokey pay for making his job becoming a vendetta against Smyth by giving Smyth his job. I still believe that would've been the best course of action but still seeing Smyth return and what now seems to be, Archer Black on his side was fantastic and should make Revolution that much more exciting. Congrats to Des for the win, Benny for Smyth's return, scribbs for the possible character development he'll have in working for Smyth and to Vand for the reign he had.
Now the infamous Blackout Championship Rafter's Match, which was the winner of the match of the night, it had great action, great animosity between the contestants and a sick finish which led to Hawk still retaining the gold. This was a match I really looked forward to seeing and it lived up to hype and I felt the right man won. Well done to Jelly and WrestlingFan for making this match exciting and to IWA creative for writing it, it was a classic that can really earn IWA a Match of the Year Award later on.
Great show of unity between Adonis and Blue. I liked that it showed Adonis' confidence and Blue's concern for Pink but also knows he has to make Shaz pay for his actions. Well done. Great chemistry between Torphy and Scribbs.
The turn by Ryan was fun to see and now sets up Punk to a storyline where he'll fight the higher power in what will be likely be his continued quest for the gold against Black Blooded but with 2 straight PPV losses and a GM hell bent on making his time Revolution a horrible one that quest will be a treacherous one, so it will be interesting to see who outside of Punk will now look to face Black Blooded for the gold.
Holy shi- talk about a huge promo, which I normally wouldn't mind just not this late in the show and before the main event since it killed some of the momentum the turn by Ryan made but it's Erebus and Cole so it's okay and puts Erebus in a place where if his promo was this high up on the show, he must be considered a high level star within Revolution, good job on the promo. Torphs is definitely gonna be amazing with Erebus.
Now Shaz and Kyojin end the night strong with the win in the main evnt and with Kyojin pinning Adonis no less, giving him great presence in the mind of Adonis and how his reign may be in peril in facing Kyojin, while Shaz and Blue got great action and make their feud exciting. The feuds in Chaos are starting to heat up greatly, so great job with that.
Overall the PPV was very enjoyable and featured great rivalries gaining great momentum to be that much more and more intense and exciting and created a lot questions as to where they're headed in route to Insult to Injury.
It gets an A+++. Kudos to all the talents involved and the creative teams for creating such a wonderful PPV.
