Well this was a great house show, no doubt about it. Seven matches, all got time, with only one going under *** and three going ***3/4 and above.
House of Truth vs. All Night eXpress - ***1/4
A good strong opener, and did a good job of escalating the HoT break-up. Elgin looked really great here.
Mike Bennett vs. Mike Sydal - **
Evan Bourne's little brother didn't look to good here. Bennett had to carry the match, and that's probably why it only got to the ** mark.
Young Bucks vs. Bravado Brothers - ****
No that was not a miss type, that was a **** Bravado match! This was the Bravado's first match since there return, and damn did they impress! It was around 13 minutes of brilliant action from both teams, a truely great match, especially for where it was on the card. The Bravado's imprvement is just phenominal, and the Bucks were there ever brilliant selves.
S.C.U.M. (Steen & Jacobs) vs. Generico & Whitmer - No DQ - ***3/4
This was a great brawl from the break ups of two great tag team. BJ Whitmer looked really impressive here, showing that he deserves his spot back in the company. I just hope this wasn't El Generico's last ever ROH match.
The Colony vs. Cole, Leathal & TJP - Trios Action - ***1/2
Some very fun, non stop action. The ROH guys adapted very well for Trios rules. TJP was the star here, I just wish they'd book him more.
Team Ambition vs. WGTT - ***1/2
I wasn't expecting much from this match, but it was actually pretty good. It was a bit slow at the beginning, but picked up really well towards the end. Charlie Haas was awesome as a heel here, and it was also a precursor to the breakup of Team Ambition. Suprisingly good really.
The Briscoes (c) vs. Hallowicked & Jigsaw - Tag Team Titles - ***3/4
Great main event, was a hundred miles an hour from the opening bell, and had some great spots. It should have really been a ****+ match, but the finish let it down. CHIKARA and ROH members came down to the ring... and did NOTHING! Jay Briscoe hits a DVD and Frogelbow from mark wins it. A bit flat really, but still a very good match.
Onto the prediction contest:
1st - Robareid - 105
2nd - Dr Death - 97
3rd - Cabers - 75
4th - VanHooliganX - 72
5th - jordan1995 - 54
6th - magglis 46
So conratulations to... well me
I think this might be my first non TV taping victory of the year, so I'm happy with that, a couple more good performances like that and I might start giving Cabers a bit of a challenge at the top. I'll go update the overall results now.
Oh, and next up is Rising Above 2012
