Back then it was a big deal. In todays age its a throwback and a novelty.
I'd rather have nothing than have a lie.

I've only seen Lacy Von Erich use it in recent times so its like a family heirloom.

I'm not entirely sure if this is how its supposed to be done but when me and my friends wrestled and someone did the claw on me their fingers were pressing down on my temples and it did hurt liek hell
When the Devil is to busy
And Death's a bit to much
They call on me by name you see, for my special touch

To the gentleman I'm Ms. Forture
To the ladies I'm Sir Prize
But call me by any name, any way it's all the same

In kayfabe, it was supposed to exert intense pressure on your temples, causing you to pass out. No more unbelieveable than the People's Elbow or the Mandible Claw, really. Or really, really lame sleeper holds that you see

A sleeper hold is actually believable since all breathing things pass out after being choked for a lengthy period of time. Also.. When you have somebodies legs wrapped tightly around your waist then you are one f'ed man. I respect Dolph Ziggler for having that move in this day of Wrestling where fans want fast pace rather than a good, slow, classic match.
The wolf of the night, and the Elvis of awesomeness. AWHOOOOOOOO!

Yeah but I'm referring to the sleeper as performed (if you can call it that) by Roddy Piper, Brutus Beefcake etc. Just real fricken sloppy! At least Dolphie's is fairly quick - not the 5 minute snorefests of yesteryear; only to see the victim mount a comeback more often than not.

    damn rly?
i guess this sort of claws using ur fingers to hurt ur tendons is true after all i just found it more believable if the iron claw would be used in a more weak place like the neck

A claw on the neck would be a choke buddy lol.

There is a Claw maneuver where they grab the part between the neck and shoulder though
I'd rather have nothing than have a lie.
