This was the best WrestleMania in a few years!!!
For those upset with Daniel Bryan losing in 18 seconds, get over it. HHH was squashed in his first WM match too....how'd things turn out for that guy?? It would've been a nice match, but now we have even more from this rivalry to look forward to. This may also help further develop Bryan's heel persona, so let's just wait & see what happens from here.
Kane v Orton was much better than I anticipated, and Kane picking up the win was a positive shock.
For those who are upset over Cody losing how he did to Big Show, get over it. Cody isn't even his prime and will headline a WM one day, no doubt. This was about Show exercising his past WM demons & capturing a belt he's never held as he heads into the twilight of his career.
The chicks weren't horrible.
Team Johnny v Team Teddy did exactly what it was supposed to do: give a little WM shine to some that wouldn't have made it otherwise, give The Miz a much deserved push, make Laurinitis G.M., and build the characters of Eve & Zach Ryder (they are popular, so deal with it) even more.
'Taker v HHH was the match of the night, and stole the show. Taker took brutal chair shots, & when he got hit with Sweet Chin Music + The Pedigree I legitimately thought the streak was over. The emotion HBK exuded during the match made everything that much more intense. The show of mutual respect at the end was a WM moment forever & was the moment of the night!!
Punk v Jericho didn't quite live up to my lofty expectations....I thought it prodded a little too slowly....but it cranked up midway and was still an awesome match. The Walls of Jericho being applied from off of the turnbuckle was great, and Punk winning with the Anaconda Vice was even better. Pure wrestling match, and that is always a great thing!!!
Rock v Cena was about what I thought it would be, pretty exciting. Did not see The Rock winning, so that was a bonus. No interference was also a good move. It felt epic, and for the most part it was.
Note: Other than the Laurinitis/Punk segment, the backstage vingettes sucked. We don't need a ton of those, nor match recaps for that matter, in WM. We're already watching it, so I'm pretty sure we know the stories already.
S/N: The performances from MGK and Flo Rida SUCKED BALLS!!!! I am a Hip-Hop connoisseur so I am very confident in my musical palate, and I know lame when I see it. Never do that again, WWE. Even those performances were not as hidiously atrocious as Brodus Clay. I cringed in horror at this pathetic display of humanity. I was sorta cool with the gimmick, now I hate it & wish he'd get repackaged.
Overall, I was pleased with WM28. Cutting out some of the bullshit and getting straight to the action in the future would've made it even better, but I still am very satisfied.
