Boom. Beat the Shadow Broker at hardcore difficulty on my first attempt. Got the achievement. So happy.

The Sorrow games are indeed both dope. I actually enjoyed Order of Eclesia a lot, though I know it's not particularly popular amongst fans. I'm typically a big exploration kind of gamer, but I still generally enjoyed Order's experimental emphasis on more linear level chunklets. Loved the hub town, too, as it felt like a callback to Simon's Quest (a nostalgic pleasure of mine).

I was lucky to get Mirror of Fate pre-ordered when Newegg was offering it for $29.99 (I just looked and it seems that the deal has died).

Im planning on buying next week, so if anyone could give me a thumbs up or down and good reason for your review, it would definitely help on my decision on purchasing this game (I was disappointed by other handheld iterations)..
Word on it seemed kind of mixed, so I was just going to wait until it dropped to $20 or whatever. I heard that it has The World Ends With You characters in it, though, so that's definitely got my interest piqued regardless.

Order of Eclesia was solid fun, and had the most difficult boss battle against Death from all Castlevania games in my opinion.

Both the PS2 games were relativley enjoyable, even if they weren't the classic Metroid style.

It's kind of funny how that Metroidvania style of play has become so closely associated with the Castlevania franchise despite the first half dozen or so games being, well, not like that. Even though some have multiple branching paths to take, they were generally linear affairs. Back-tracking and such didn't really become a thing until Symphony, and the series already had several established classics by then.

They were classic side-scrollers with hidden paths, and were quite merciless to, not the easiest games to play. Probably one of the reasons they switched to the Metroid-Vania styles, before switching to the newer 3D style of Shadows.
