It hasn't changed so I don't see why we would care.
Besides, do you know how different Americans are from the rest of the world? If we're willing to stick to feet, inches and miles while everyone else uses the metric system and we use Fahrenheit while everyone else uses Celcius, what makes you think we're going to bow down and change the name of the sport that's the centerpiece behind the most financially successful sports franchise in the world just because a bunch of sentimentalists want to whine?
Lol man,i'm joking
God save America.
And another thing, how many good soccer players in America can you name at the top of your head? We're so bad, in comparison to the rest of the world, we might as well be calling it something else.
Clint Dempsey, Landon Donovan, Brad Fridel, Tim Howard, Maurice Edu, Freddy Adu, Brek Shea and Chris Wondowallaski(SP?) off top of my head
But I have a slight unfair advantage over most English people here since I follow MLS closely too.
I wouldn't say you're bad pal, just not world class. You'll always qualify for the World Cup due to the god awful qualifying system and your youth teams get better and better with every generation.
