I knew I should have paid more attention to it. But to be honest, there is a lot of zombie stuff out there and it has slightly lost my interest. The only thing I am waiting for is the Sept. 15th announcement of RE6 from Tokyo.
I've seriously endured about all the stupid I can take.
Found this. Thought you might enjoy it.
The person using an Iron Ape Facebook alias to troll the main newsboard continues to suck incredibly hard at what they're doing. It wouldn't bother me if they were the slightest bit clever, but it's quite obviously the work of a dullard. I'm flattered that they would go to these lengths, but I can't help but feel that I deserve a little better. Like, why can't I be e-stalked by someone whose mother didn't drink into her third trimester?
Speaking of robbery- I saw a video of a kid that had been pretty seriously injured in the riot, and as he laid there bleeding, some guys came over to help him up...only to then proceed to rummage through his book-bag and rip him off! I couldn't believe it. I mean, I'm used to seeing this kind of abhorrent behavior from my American brethren, but for whatever reason it came as a real shock to me to see people from your country resorting to this kind of shit. Maybe I was wrong to assume this, but I always had this sort of of fantastical idea of everyone from your country being incredibly civilized and full of class. It was weird seeing you guys so, well, human. Like, you guys have no smaller capacity for evil than anyone else, and now I feel sort of foolish for ever thinking otherwise.
Oh, well. We might have never met or anything, but I consider you a real friend so I'm naturally pretty relieved to here that you and yours have been safe through all of this madness.
If this weekend passes without incident I think it will be all over in London. But Friday night is still a bit of a concern for me, as that's when there will be a lot of people out with money in their pockets, and rioting could become robbery. But that's thinking to deep into things, and it's possible these fools have no next move planned at all.
It has been mostly quiet in London but other cities are still having copycat riots.
For the first three days there were riots there were only 6,000 police in London, and the majority of those were protecting places in central London. The paltry number of police posted in each town that was getting attacked meant that they had no chance of controlling them. But on the forth night an extra ten thousand police were in London, and there has been no real trouble since.
Also, there have been a large number of citizens banding together to stand up to these pricks. In the areas where the Sikh's have a large presence they all stood outside their temples with some of them carrying swords!
One town saw over 150 hard as nails Millwall Football Club supporters patrolled the streets daring the thugs to show up!
Bro, I forgot to tell you, before Reeves Corner was burnt down, around 200 "man dem" MARCHED past my house wearing masks, balaclavas and hoodies.
Thankfully the small parade of shops outside my house were spared destruction, and it is partly due to the fact that there are TWO West Indian food shops there that are run by some real heavies. These thugs are thick, but not that thick!
The phone shops, sports shops and computer/home appliances shops have been hit the worst. There are stories of these groups of kids breaking into places like Foot Locker and trying the trainers on before stealing them!
I imagine there are many people stocking up on supplies (and bullets) as the fear that most normal people have for this situation is rising by the hour.
I just went past a pawn shop and the windows had been completely smashed in, and the 24 hr superstore was closed, so I'm just now really seeing the full effects of what went down in my area last night.
I honestly don't think things would be this bad if our police had more rights (being able to carry guns would be a start).
It's organised nocturnal rioting and when the sun goes down all doors, and most public transport, are closed off. People everywhere are being advised to stay indoors, but if/when things get worse, I imagine some sort of forced curfew may be issued.
As far as going to work, well, I'm pretty sure it's the companies bosses discretion, and my machivellian midget of a guvna will look down on anyone who doesn't come in. But the store workers of the places that have been/could be looted will be staying at home until things cool down, as it's impossible to predict when and where they will strike next.
