What's with all the HATE towards Bound For Glory?

Okay, so I watch Bound For Glory, then I log onto this website to see what the rest of you guys thought of the PPV, and to my amazement the vast majority of the EWN community hated the show, and i mean hated it, with a passion!!
Which begs the question, did you guys watch the same PPV as me??

The PPV I watched had one of the best tag team matches in recent memory (no not the Young/Jordan vs Ink Ink match), MCMG vs GenMe, it had everything, a super quick pace, high flying, spectacular moves, and brilliant chemistry.

The PPV I watched had a very solid X-Division Championship match, a very good monster's ball match, a good Lethal Lockdown match, and a decent knockouts title match.

Also the show I watched had a very good, solid main event, including a controversial, yet intriguing finish. It had me and my wife on the edge of our seats, in shock and disbelief.

This blog, however, is not a review of Bound For Glory.

The main focus of all the bitching seems to be aimed at said finish, which most of you are p*issing all over, but why??

Think about it...........................

The Hogan and Bischoff heel turn makes complete sense, they want full control of the fastest growing wrestling company in the world.

Jeff Jarrett's heel turn makes complete sense, he has seen his company taken away from him by Dixie Carter (hell, she even suspended him from his own company) and he see's Hogan and Bisch as his way to regain some control once again.

Also, after i read so many of you saying "the Hardy heel turn doesn't make sense" after only a few days has passed since BFG, my advice to you is this;
HAVE SOME PATIENCE AND WAIT AND SEE, IM SURE IT WILL BE EXPLAINED!!

Seriously guys, who did you want "THEY" to be?
nWo? Nexus? Shane McMahon? Paul Heyman??
Come on!! There is no better heel in the biz than Eric Bischoff, most "fans" hate him anyway. Add to that the complete power trip i see him adopting, plus the backing of Abyss and the world champ, Jeff Hardy, and you got yourself one hell of a pr*ck that people will tune in to just to see the crap getting beaten out of him.

Final Thoughts

*If you didn't watch any of the build up to Bound For glory, you will not get it!

*If you prefer the kiddie-friendly style of WWE, you will not get it!

*If you are a sheep and you follow everybody else, you will not get it

*If you dont get it now, you are never gonna get it, so stop pretending to get it..................................YOU DONT!!

I'm with you, don't get me wrong, but I think most people look at it like the ship that has already sailed. Hogan and Bischoff turning heel? 1997. True, they have new wrestlers involved but that's only because it's a new era. I think people don't get the Hardy heel turn because he was someone everyone pulled for, even when his personal life was bad. He's the guy we could count on to pull off some "Holy $hit" moves. Now he'll be the champ that Hogan was with the nWo. Remember, the guy who avoided fighting, didn't show up for weeks at a time because he "didn't have to" and never did anything good in the ring?

No matter everyone's fears or speculation, I definitely think TNA is headed in the right direction. I was hoping more for a Mr Anderson heel turn because of his whole storyline of trying to gain everyone's trust and being an @$$hole, but I think people will be surprised when things start playing out.

    Good Post.

Good call CW, but sometimes the biggest "faces" make the best "heels", in the sense that fans will despise the guy even more because, as you said, we all got behind him and supported him through the bad times and this is how he repays us!! GRRRRRRR YOU SUCK HARDY!!!! lol

Watch this from 48 minutes up.

This sort of thing makes sense for Anderson or Angle to turn heel, not for Hardy who showed absolutely no connection to Bishoff or Hogan. Heck, it makes sense for RVD to be heel since Sting stole the title at one point. Too boot, Jeff Hardy was the #1 ranked person and Abyss was #2, why bother with the tournament if they were "They" all along?

Remember when they did it with Goldberg? People hated it and didn't want to boo him so more people stopped watching WCW.

If there is a good lead up, it makes sense for a face to turn heel.

Rassling_Fan very very true about Goldberg BUT, the difference is this: Goldberg never once had people EMOTIONALLY attached to him. The attachment people had towards Goldberg was like the attachment you have towards your favorite MMA fighter. You wanna see him kick ass cause you think he's a badass mofo! But if you see him get his ass kicked you have no emotional investment.

Jeff Hardy on the other hand DID invest emotionally. I'm 19, I've LITERALLY grown up watching Jeff Hardy, from being a nobody, to Freebirds 1998, Brood 2.0, then the dare devils, then a singles break out star, to a druggie, to a world champion, back to a druggie, and now World champion again. I mean we've all (myself included) seen Jeff Hardy grow as a performer, and THAT'S why the heel turn will work. Hell everybody from Mike Tenay to JR called him a rock star and now it looks like he's become a rock star with too big of a head that resents his fans.

I as well enjoyed BFG, I thought it was an awesome PPV. I won't lie I marked when Hardy turned. I really thought that it was a no brainier that Kurt Angle was going to win, but when Hardy thwacked him and Anderson with the crutches it was probably one of the biggest "WHAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTT??" moments in a while (from a TNA stand point).

There's a problem with that. He's not turning heel alone. He's turning heel with Hogan and Bishoff (two people TNA already don't want to see more of), Jarrett (who people were sick of being heel in early TNA), and joining forces with Abyss (who people wanted to see far away from Hogan before this "They" Business) and Fortune (containing AJ Styles who is the least believable heel ever).

If he made the heel turn on his own, then it would be great. But this surplus of twists made his impact fail. Just imagine, if Jeff Hardy was the only one who turned heel, taking the crutches from Bishoff forcefully and using it on Anderson, then pushing Hogan to use his crutch on Angle. Saying that no one supported him on being a champion, even blaming the fans on that, and joining Fortune because they were secretly supporting him to become champion.

We got a heel Hardy, joining Fortune, with no sign of Jarret/Bishoff/Hogan heel turns and that leaves They to be something better then something that made absolutely no sense.
