How long can The Shield remain united?

Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins; THE SHIELD. Undoubtedly 3 of the most promising talents on the current roster. 3 stars in the making, 3 future main-event players.
Debuting with an unexpected appearance at the culmination of the Survivor Series 2012 main event; handing out a match ending triple PowerBomb to Ryback thus aiding CM Punk in achieving a whole year as WWE Champion. It was a surprise to say the least. I had been waiting for Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to make their way to the top tier and couldn't have been happier when it finally came to fruition. Admittedly i knew very little of Roman Reigns, but from the moment they showed their unity it was clear the WWE had something special.
After several appearances The Shield stepped up to the plate at TLC 2012, competing in a 3 on 3 TLC match against Team Hell No and previous victim Ryback. And if there where any cynics, any doubters. Then they staked one hell of a claim against them with a event stealing match, even a possible year stealing match.
Fast forward 16 months and it is incredible how far they have come. They have taken down the likes of Sheamus, Cena, Big Show, Kane, Daniel Bryan, Ryback, Usos, Mysterio, Randy Orton, Undertaker, The Rock, Ziggler, Sandow, Mark Henry....the list goes on and on. Reigns and Rollins captured tag team gold at WWE Payback and reinvigorated the division, embarking on a fantastic feud with The Rhodes brothers and where even at points was the only interesting thing about the product. Ambrose captured the U.S title the same night and still holds it now (although the importance has almost deteriorated).
Most recently was the ground breaking feud with The Wyatts. I cannot remember there being a match in WWE, where the fans where chanting "This is Awesome" before a punch was thrown, before a bell had been rung. The atmosphere this feud had created was mesmerizing. And it didn't stop there, the action inside the ring was intense and had me (and i'm sure, millions of others) on the edge of my seat. The promos leading up to their first encounter at Elimination Chamber 2014 was electric from The Shield and the chemistry between the two factions was blatant. Their match at Elimination Chamber stole the show; 8 days later on RAW they did it all again. There is a common denominator to excellence in the WWE and it is The Shield. Aside from Daniel Bryan and his "YES Movement" and The Wyatts. The only consistently great thing in WWE is the Shield.
An implosion within the established group has been brewing. Many expecting it to lead to a triple threat at WrestleMania XXX and put an end to the most dominant and refreshing faction WWE has seen in a long time. But with a seemingly new found energy building within the Shield, the question must be asked; How long can the Shield remain United? Could the Shield continue for another year? This time having a run fighting justice from the inside; rebelling against the Authority? I for one would be behind it 100%. I agree with fans when they say Roman is on fire and needs a push as a singles star. He can still do that, but remain part of The Shield. Rollins is gaining more and more support due to his emphatic determination. Ambrose will be a top heel, but there is plenty of time for that to happen.
Right now, Kane and The Shield have seemingly begun a program. Could it lead to Kane enlisting the help of Harper and Rowan to take on the The Shield in a 6 man tag at the showcase event? Could Kane call up The Ascension? It seems more probable than an implosion occurring within the next 4 weeks. This could lead to The Shield beginning a feud with The Authority and possibly with Reigns getting his push at Summerslam against HHH.
I truly feel that the Shield still have a lot more to offer. Let them run as faces and see how it pans out. I for one see them garnering plenty of support. Especially if they target the Authority and their constant injustice.
What do you think? Should the Shield split as soon as possible and allow all 3 to pursue singles careers? Or does the Shield still have a lot left to give as a unit?
