WrestleMania 29 Preview: The Forgotten Superstars

Rate this Entry
With a little more than four weeks to go until WrestleMania 29 invades the Big Apple on Sunday, April 7th, the card looks to be shaping up with the following matches:

John Cena vs. The Rock

Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger

The Undertaker vs. CM Punk

Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar

Ryback vs. Mark Henry

Randy Orton, Sheamus, & Big Show vs. The Shield

This brings the match total to six with possibly two or three matches to be added in the coming weeks. Keep in mind, Rock-Cena, Undertaker-Punk, and HHH-Lesnar are expected to average about thirty minutes and the huge possibly of performances by Puff Daddy and Angels and Airwaves to take up some time as well.

And so without further delay, here's what to expect with the following notable WWE Superstars without any direction heading into WrestleMania 29:

Antonio Cesaro
The former Ring of Honor standout has been setting the WWE on fire as he is one of the WWE's up-and-coming heels and has won the United States Championship in his rookie year. Right now, the Swiss Superstar is currently in a feud with The Miz. However, the WWE wants to have proven Superstars on the card but there is a chance that Cesaro could defend the title--on the pre-show, that is.

Chris Jericho
Y2J is expected to make his return to WWE TV after touring with his band Fozzy. I expect him to rekindle his feud with Dolph Ziggler as I expect Jericho vs. Ziggler at WrestleMania 29.

Cody Rhodes
The Grandson of a Plumber has been lost in the shuffle apart from his on again, off again partnership with Damien Sandow as well as his infatuation with Divas Champion Kaitlyn. Although it is possible that a tag team title match against Daniel Bryan & Kane could happen, it is expected that Bryan vs. Kane in singles action will be the likely direction for WrestleMania 29, relegating Rhodes to the pre-show as a result.

Damien Sandow
Like Rhodes, the Intellectual Savior of the Unwashed Masses is also without any direction and will be demoted to the pre-show as well.

Daniel Bryan
The American Dragon has had a volatile relationship with his tag team partner Kane in recent weeks and logic suggests that their tumultuous reign as WWE Tag Team Championship will come to an end in the next couple of weeks. Expect Bryan and Kane to settle their differences in singles action at WrestleMania 29 rather than a tag team title match with an unknown team.

Dolph Ziggler
Even though Ziggler has no direction in the last couple of weeks, expect all that to change come this Monday on RAW when Jericho makes his return to WWE TV.

See Daniel Bryan

Kofi Kingston
Another Superstar whose stock has fallen in recent weeks, the Ghanaian is also without a meaningful storyline. Expect Kingston to be bumped to the pre-show.

The Miz
Apart from his feud with Cesaro, Mr. Awesome has been pretty much been relegated to hosting his show MIZ TV on WWE TV. It could very well be possible that he could face Cesaro for the US title--in a lumberjack match on the pre-show.

Other Superstars who are expected to be lost in the shuffle heading into WrestleMania 29 are Sin Cara, R-Truth, Heath Slater, Zack Ryder, and the Divas.

You seem to have forgotten about our Intercontinental Champion

Good news for the Superstars and Divas who are not booked for WrestleMania 29: The WrestleMania 29 pre-show will be an hour long as opposed to 30 minutes prior to the PPV. This will mean more matches for the Superstars who will not make the main card.
