Jason's Thoughts:Survivor Series 2012

Rate this Entry
Yeah i know i said i would be back for impact but its Survivor Series, one of my favorite PPV's so i figured why not give my thoughts.
Preshow

Team Ziggler Seg
Really David Otunga? Um wow
Rating:1.5 stars

3MB vs Cobro
This match was a whole lot better than i thought it would be Zack, Heath and Jinder were able to save this match even with Santino. I definately enjoyed 3MB's antics aswell.
Rating: 2.9/5 stars

R Truth interview
I am starting to enjoy R Truth's character a little more and this promo was actually pretty funny.
Rating: 2/5 stars

Main Show

Brodus,Gabriel,Tyson,Sin Cara and Rey vs Tensai,Epico,Primo and The Prime Time Players
This was a amazing match, it was giving the proper time all the wrestlers did well and most of all it had fast paced and high flying action which i love this would be a five star match imo if it wasnt for the fact it felt like a squash.
Rating: 4/5 stars

Eve vs Kaitlyn Match/Seg
We got a backstage scrap with Aksana,Kaitlyn and Eve that was ok i guess but the match was the thing that i liked. It was lengthy had good back and forth etc but the fact it had alot of cat fighting and the wierd finish takes away a few points for me.
Rating 3/5 stars

Antonio Cesaro vs R Truth for the US title
This was a very boring match the feud did not interest me, the only decent part of this match was the last minute or two
Rating : 2/5 stars

AJ/Vickie seg
Really a burrito? This was a pretty funny segment that had some good jokes here and there and a suprising beatdown by Tamina on AJ some may say this is is a dumb angle but we are seeing the divas in a bigtime storyline and anything that gets them more attention is a good thing in my opinion
Rating: 3/5 stars

Heyman interview
Really nice mic work by Heyman
Rating: 2.9/5

Sheamus vs Big Show for the WHC
This was a good match but that finish really ruined it for me...well until we got to that awesome after match brawl with chairs
Rating: 3/5 stars

Team Foley vs Team Ziggler
This was a very boring match but it really picked up in the second half. It was super long, had tons of awesome moves and most of all we saw got to see dolph beat orton cleanly and be the sole survivor
Rating: 5/5 stars

CM Punk vs John Cena vs Ryback (WWE Title)
Oh my god that was awesome amazing match and just as Ryback was about to win we got the debut of Roman, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose! I for one marked the hell out
Rating: 4/5 stars

Overall: 9/10 this was just a amazing ppv great build up, segments and matches aswell as a ton of suprising moments that make survivor series survivor series and hopefully these 3 men follow the tradition of rock and undertaker and become great superstars. Sadly i think WWE beat TNA is ppv quality this month. That is all i have to say see you next week.

Two straight PPV Main Event screw job finishes? That's a poor decision. With a three-way match there's no need for a screw job finish as the "monster" Ryback could have been beaten down by the other two and have one of those guys pin the other (as it happened without the run-in).

I would be upset if I paid money to see yet another un-clean finish.

For what I read, the PPV was ehhhhh. I think because everyone's little Zig Zig got a clean win over Randy Orton, and Punk kept the title, that everyone sees this as the best PPV in WWE history.
A&E was Nexus storyline reused in TNA last night was definatly not anything close to A&E or Nexus just saying

So my guess is the trio from NXT jumped Ryback because of him squashing Brad Maddox. I'm guessing thats a new faction within the WWE, Maddox as their leader. Like a mini-Nexus.

What are you talking about Aces & Eights is a rip off of the nWo, Nexus, etc. You kids need to realize that stories in wrestling as always retreaded, repackaged and re-instituted.

And you saw what WWE did with Nexus. Buried it after screwing it up. Then they abandoned the whole faction thing...TNA comes in with A&E and it's somewhat successful...so now it's, "hey, let's do Nexus again..."

Don't get too excited...having three NXT guys jump Ryback is not something new and refreshing no matter how much you want it to be.

What's your deal with Ziggler? You seem really down on him. I don't think he is the best talker but his in ring ability is phenomenal.

I'm just not a fan. Never was. He's a wannabe Mr. Ass but everyone likes to call him the reincarnation hybrid of Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, and Mr. Perfect. So I do it because it makes me laugh when everyone jumps to his defense and tries praising him like he's something special.

I grew up watching Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels in his prime, Ric Flair in his prime, and Mr. Perfect in his hay day as well. Those guys had phenomenal in-ring ability. To compare Ziggler to them is disrespectful in my eyes. He can't hold a candle to those guys. Plus, he has a stupid name and a stupid finisher.

There's probably 7000 more reasons but I think I made my point already.
