Jason's Thoughts:Survivor Series 2012

Rate this Entry
Yeah i know i said i would be back for impact but its Survivor Series, one of my favorite PPV's so i figured why not give my thoughts.
Preshow

Team Ziggler Seg
Really David Otunga? Um wow
Rating:1.5 stars

3MB vs Cobro
This match was a whole lot better than i thought it would be Zack, Heath and Jinder were able to save this match even with Santino. I definately enjoyed 3MB's antics aswell.
Rating: 2.9/5 stars

R Truth interview
I am starting to enjoy R Truth's character a little more and this promo was actually pretty funny.
Rating: 2/5 stars

Main Show

Brodus,Gabriel,Tyson,Sin Cara and Rey vs Tensai,Epico,Primo and The Prime Time Players
This was a amazing match, it was giving the proper time all the wrestlers did well and most of all it had fast paced and high flying action which i love this would be a five star match imo if it wasnt for the fact it felt like a squash.
Rating: 4/5 stars

Eve vs Kaitlyn Match/Seg
We got a backstage scrap with Aksana,Kaitlyn and Eve that was ok i guess but the match was the thing that i liked. It was lengthy had good back and forth etc but the fact it had alot of cat fighting and the wierd finish takes away a few points for me.
Rating 3/5 stars

Antonio Cesaro vs R Truth for the US title
This was a very boring match the feud did not interest me, the only decent part of this match was the last minute or two
Rating : 2/5 stars

AJ/Vickie seg
Really a burrito? This was a pretty funny segment that had some good jokes here and there and a suprising beatdown by Tamina on AJ some may say this is is a dumb angle but we are seeing the divas in a bigtime storyline and anything that gets them more attention is a good thing in my opinion
Rating: 3/5 stars

Heyman interview
Really nice mic work by Heyman
Rating: 2.9/5

Sheamus vs Big Show for the WHC
This was a good match but that finish really ruined it for me...well until we got to that awesome after match brawl with chairs
Rating: 3/5 stars

Team Foley vs Team Ziggler
This was a very boring match but it really picked up in the second half. It was super long, had tons of awesome moves and most of all we saw got to see dolph beat orton cleanly and be the sole survivor
Rating: 5/5 stars

CM Punk vs John Cena vs Ryback (WWE Title)
Oh my god that was awesome amazing match and just as Ryback was about to win we got the debut of Roman, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose! I for one marked the hell out
Rating: 4/5 stars

Overall: 9/10 this was just a amazing ppv great build up, segments and matches aswell as a ton of suprising moments that make survivor series survivor series and hopefully these 3 men follow the tradition of rock and undertaker and become great superstars. Sadly i think WWE beat TNA is ppv quality this month. That is all i have to say see you next week.

    The sum total of your rating is 1.5 + 2.9 + 2 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 3 + 2.9 + 3 + 5 + 4 = 33.3.
    Then the average is 33.3/11 = 3.027.
So the OVERALL rating is 3.027 out of 5.
You double the rating, it will result into 6.054 out of 10.
And yet your OVERALL rating turns into 9 out of 10...

You're either a math major or just way too literal for your own good. It's possible the author incorporated other factors into his overall rating that weren't a part of the match/segment ratings. Things like overall feel of the PPV, or comparisons to PPVs past, or whatever. Who cares really? It's his blog; he's free to rate the shows as he wants.

Back on topic, I'm with the author about marking out at finally seeing Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose in the WWE. Hopefully the 'E uses them right.

I'm not a math major nor related to any math field. It just baffled me when i saw the numbers rating and then jump to a 9 all of a sudden which is 4.5 in a scale of 5. He has one 5 and the rest never reached a 4.5. In addition, I never asked him why, nor critized it, I just stated what I thought. You could be right, there are some other factors involve which I failed to read. But in any case, you can't just jump from an average of 6 to a 9 even how huge the extra factors are added into it.

I actually like that you pointed that out. I don't watch WWE, but I did read the results because the main event had screw job ending written all over it. I didn't expect WWE to go Aces & Eights though. I wonder what's next for them to rip off?

For what I read, the PPV was ehhhhh. I think because everyone's little Zig Zig got a clean win over Randy Orton, and Punk kept the title, that everyone sees this as the best PPV in WWE history.
