Why Monday Night RAW needs to stay at three hours.

So, I registered for this site after reading Dashing Rachel's "blog" about why RAW needs to go back to 2 hours. I'm here to offer a rebuttal. This is the first blog I've ever written for any site anywhere. So if you think it sucks, let me know!! Criticism doesn't bother me.
Anyway... July 23rd is when RAW went to three hours. I was excited because it seemed like we were getting a pay per view every week. I can make the argument that this is better then a PPV. In a PPV you have a recap and a match, a recap and a match, etc etc etc. In RAW you get the advancement of storylines and awesome promos and RAW Active and some high quality wrestling.
Let's get the bad out of the way. Creative. Creative needs to improve tremendously. Cena and Punk can not be your only 2 draws. They can not be the only two Superstars to carry your flagship program. Dolph Ziggler can not be involved in this shitty AJ angle. Maybe they're doing it to keep him tied to Vickie when the time comes to pick a new GM. I don't know. With Beth Phoenix now gone they need to establish the Divas as better wrestlers and not just eye candy. Will we ever see a Divas main event like we did with Trish and Lita? I seriously doubt it. They wrestle like they're to fragile. I personally long for the days where the only women in wrestling were Miss Elizabeth and Sensational Sherry. The AJ angle is pointless. It's supposed to lead to a match between AJ and Vicky and maybe Dolph and Cena. Really? You use up one of your top draws to promote a mediocre at best women's match? Yawn. What if it's revealed that the "evidence" is fake? Is McMahon going to come out and give AJ her job back? Nope. I just don't see a satisfactory resolution to this angle. None. Social Ambassadors. They need to go. Snooki? Ahnold? Criss Angel? This is the best they can do? I want to see Stone Cold as a social ambassador. Or HBK or even better the Ultimate Warrior! He always has something interesting and off the wall to say. Seriously, go look up some his motivational speeches on YouTube. It's 20 minutes of Warrior highlights followed by 45 minutes of nonsense. Plus his legal name is Warrior Warrior. There's hilarity everywhere.
Okay so I mentioned the crappy creative, bad angles, and social ambassadors. Now it's on to the good.
First and foremost. I'm 31 years old. I grew up with Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior. Sgt. Slaughter and the Iron Sheik. I HATED the heels and thought the faces were bona fide super heroes. I love good wrestling, good stories, and great characters. I would take Brutus the Barber Beefcake over Ted DiBiase anyday. I'd take Iron Sheik over Jinder Mahal. I used to run around the room losing my mind every time the Ultimate Warrior came out. Now? The only time in the last ten years that I've even come close to that emotional of a reaction is when Chris Benoit won the WWE title at Wrestlemania. And that was because Benoit was my favorite wrestler.
Having made passionate love to wrestling of yester year let's talk current day. Sheamus. Wade Barret. Punk. Cena. Rhodes Scholars. Prime Time Players. Team Hell No. All of them are reason enough to tune into RAW every week. They're all well written, big draws, give you excellent matches and promos and are sometimes even downright hilarious. That's not to mention Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio, and Randy Orton. You have an awesome line up there. Plus you have excellent mid carders in the Miz and Kofi Kingston. Social Media. I know Dashing Rachel said this was over used but I don't see it. I love how some guys use Twitter to keep up their feuds. I really love RAW Active. Without that we wouldn't have Team Hell No. It'd be something else. I'm not a big fan of Tout. I just don't really see the point and I prefer classic promos. I really feel like fans can be a part of the show thanks to WWE's use of social media.
So we have great wrestling from great guys. Mostly good angles. Good promos. And good use of social media. I'm glad RAW is three hours and I hope the rating's improve and WWE continues to push Superstars up to Cena and Punk's levels.
Thanks for reading.
Oh BTW, I HATE Ryback. Dude can't wrestle and seemingly can't put together coherent sentences. All he can do is slam people around which is more a testament to the other wrestlers ability to take a bump then it is to Ryback's ability to wrestle. I know Vince loves big strong guys like this but this is ridiculous. I'd rather him be a carbon copy of Goldberg and have him work his way up the ranks. Goldberg was what? 74-0 before he got a title shot? Does anybody else think the Shell Shock is the lamest move ever? Having said that, he came off really weak getting beat by a low blow. I know it was a fast count but come on. I just think he needs better in-ring work.
