Joplin: 1 Year Later and Wrestling.

I don't know when this will get posted, but it is time for me to reflect on the year gone by. 1 year ago, my hometown and my home personally was blown away. I will never forget what happened that day. I'll admit, compared to a lot, I a lucky person. I didn't lose anyone in my family. I didn't lose a single friend. So many others did.

I don't have many possessions left from before the storm. Nor would I really want them, I think. This town lost so much more than me. But through it all, it is getting so much better. I love my town.

One of my hobbies is being an avid wrestling fan. WWE and TNA both. It is one of the things that helped me through such a trying and tense time. I could live vicariously through the wrestlers. I could live through them for 2 hrs on Monday and Thursday nights. I could get a way mentally for awhile.

The things they said. The way they acted. What they did. Saying what I couldn't say. Acting out in ways I didn't. Doing things I wouldn't. I did it all through them. Through that. I experienced some joy, when I had the time.

I have Family, Friends and Wrestling. I wouldn't give that up for anything.

Thank you for sharing that. I'm sorry for your circumstance, but I'm happy you have wrestling, as many of us do too.

When my family pokes fun at me for my wrestling love, I always joke that people come and go, girlfriends come and go, jobs come and go, seasons end, my favorite teams will always have an off season, but WRESTLING is infinite. Every Monday night for my entire life, I can turn on Raw - it is never ending, always changing, always there regardless of what's going on in the world. Wrestling is loyal. It feels outrageous for me to say, as I'm a relatively successful 24 year old with a pretty flashy job in NYC, but wrestling really is a beautiful thing.

Thanks bro. Great addition to the thread. The kid writes something meaningful, and I respond with something meaningful, and that's what you chime in with. And I'm a mark to the internet? Yes, the internet is fantastic. I believe you have access to it as well.

I'm happy to know that one line rubbed you (the only thing that has ever rubbed you) wrong enough to comment. Loser.
