Looking Ahead To The 2012 WWE Draft

Rating: 2 votes, 3.00 average.
As WrestleMania 28 draws closer and closer with John Cena vs. The rock and Triple H vs. The Undertaker headlining the show, it also means that the 2012 WWE Draft is coming up as we look at which Superstars and Divas will be changing brands on a very special three-hour Monday Night RAW on Monday, April 23 at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan (home of my favorite NHL team the Detroit Red Wings).

Although there are several members who think that WWE Brand Extension should end, the fact of the matter is that WWE Brand Extension is not ending anytime soon. Even with the RAW Supershow, it does not necessarily mean that RAW and SmackDown would be merging rosters.

First, let's look at the Superstars and Divas who will be on the chopping block a few days before the draft. I don't see very many Superstars on the WWE roster getting "future endeavored." Instead, it will be the FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling) roster which will be the most effected with numerous FCW Superstars who have failed to make an impression in WWE developmental.

Evan Bourne
Mason Ryan
Heath Slater
Johnny Curtis
Ted DiBiase, Jr.
Trent Barreta

And now without further delay, let's look at the Superstars who will be drafted on the TV Draft (the main draft on RAW which is reserved for main eventers and upper mid-carders)

Cody Rhodes
Daniel Bryan
Randy Orton

Kofi Kingston
CM Punk
The Miz
Alberto Del Rio

And of course, the WWE Supplemental Draft takes place on Tuesday, April 24 on WWE's website which allows additional Superstars and Divas to be drafted. But don't expect any big names to be drafted. Instead, it will be mid-to-low carders, Divas, and tag teams who tend to get drafted.

Tyson Kidd
Derrick Bateman
Ezekiel Jackson
Justin Gabriel
Alicia Fox
Jinder Mahal

Santino Marella
Nikki Bella
Alex Riley
Curt Hawkins
David Otunga
Brie Bella
Epico & Primo
Zack Ryder

The new rosters won't come to effect until Monday, April 30 (the day after the Extreme Rules PPV).

I was thinkng about doing something similar to this like who needs a fresh start. Miz and Cody should switch places. Same goes for the world champs.

Here's the thing, the brand extension concept needs to be dropped. BUT instead they just say this (Raw/Smackdown) is the primary show of that talent. Basically that it's the show which their storylines will be built on.

The draft should still exist for one specific reason. They then have the ability to do inter-show storylines and it could help push guys together to further develop the feud or what-have-you. It should also still exist because of talent that is released and the desire to keep a balanced roster of talent on each show.

EDIT: Just saying, the brand extension concept is meaningless anymore... Not the draft.

the draft has really messed up the development of the roster, i'm not saying it is pointless. it just happens too often.

Anyways, good blog!
being that wwe have a video up on recently about bourne and hyping that he will be going after the US title when he returns and also the fact they have just returned him to the raw supershow promo, i cant see him getting released just yet. although i wont be surprised to see him mess up and get his 3rd strike in the future

how JTG still has a job so long after cryme tyme finished i dont know. pretty sure dibiase will be safe and mason ryan too, but only because mason is a big guy and we all know how wwe loves the big guys. i hope trent doesnt get fired, he is an amazing talent, who unfortunately never really gets given the time to shine. slater i cant stand and think he is the most unappealling person on the roster, curtis is doing well enough on nxt to stay, layla hasnt done anything since laycool split so no loss there. i wouldnt mind adding some names to the list though. personally, i think the great khali, jinder mahal, ezekiel jackson and hornswoggle should all be released. none of them ever do anything worth watching and one is a goddamn leprichaun who shouldve been let go when finley was
