During an interview with Movieline.com earlier this week at the Los Angeles premiere of his new film Warrior, Kurt Angle announced that he recently signed a new 3-year deal with TNA Wrestling. When asked about how much he was acting prior to entering the world of professional wrestling, Angle said:

I was taking classes and I was getting very serious about it. I was also sportscasting — I was a sportscaster in Pittsburgh for Fox, just trying to get in front of the camera a little bit. Then pro wrestling came around and I took a shot at that, and I didn’t realize I was going to become that good.

I made a lot of money, thank God, and I stuck with it, but every time I had a movie where my name would come up for some reason, I wasn’t allowed to do it due to scheduling reasons in the WWE. So with TNA, they give me the opportunity to go ahead and do movies and if it conflicts with the schedule they work around it. It’s a much better situation for me. So I actually signed a new three-year deal today with TNA. I’m going to stick with TNA.

Angle also spoke about following in The Rocks footsteps from WWE to Hollywood, the MMA industry and more.

Wasn't there a report earlier in the year that Angle had signed a new contract with TNA?

Well I guess it's the best decision he could have made I don't think WWE would have taken him back because of his recent bad publicity. Once he's happy in Tna I think it's the right decision. But it also looks like he will end his career in Tna because I don't think Angle has 3 more years in the wrestling business, what a shame he earned a right to retire in the WWE in front of the world.

I read something about him signing a 3 1/2 year deal earlier in the year as well. Back in April/May

While I think it's great that Kurt was able to find a deal that satisfied all of his wants/needs/interests, the cinephile in me weeps like a sad clown as Kurt has been absolutely horrendous in the 3 films I've seen him in.

I have a sneaking suspicion that he's probably pretty okay in Warrior, though, as that seems to be far enough into his comfort zone that he would almost have to go out of his way to fuck that up.

I just cant see Angle still being able to go in three years..but good for him.. he's still a big name on pro wrestling. But his schedule with TNA will get even lighter in the coming months if he's to make it on to the Olympic team, And his movies suck.!!

IMO Kurt Angle shouldn't have signed a 3 year deal with TNA he's not getting any younger, one of the best to step foot in the wrestling entertainment ring and he should now start looking into another career with WWE before he retires but that's just My Opinion

If this is true, he'l be as old as The Undertaker is now. Wonder how good he'l still be in the ring?

Should the current trend in which the way his name is being de-valued continue, the only way he'll put anybody over is in a Battle Royal....

Kurt Angle really has nothing left to prove. He looks very unhealthy an should be taking a long break from the ring so that he could get better. Then he could finally leave his secret stash of grapes alone.
