Hearts lose 5 -nil at home to Spurs mix in match XI,Rangers lose to Malmo in a chmapions League qualifer, scotland lost its second Champions League place, the national team hasn't made a major tournament since 1998,the list goes on,what the heck has happened??

Even the Celtic n' Rangers in the EPL idea has died off.........(although very unlikely to ever happen)

Are expectations too high or are recent results a reflection on the league?

They have regained the 2nd CL spot for next season, but recent results in the CL qualifiers over the past few years are not good, and the results in Europe this season cous influence the co-efficient for 2013-14.

Scottish football is absolutely terrible! Their best two teams are miles better than the rest of the league but they still lose to average european teams like Malmo and Maribor or draw at home to Sion. If they let them in the prem which I think is a bad idea they would just get relegated because their players are Championship quality also it would ruin Scottish football.

Agree Steve Celtic of a few years back were excellent now id imagine only 1 or 2 players from both celtic and rangers could play for a midd table premier league team.

I mean isnt Middlesboroughs team Celtics from about 4 years ago.

I keep hearing about how good this John Fleck is as well from people i know who follow the SPL but how do we know that he is any good until he plays against decent opposition.

I seriosuly dont understand how they get 2 CL places they should take one of there places and give it to the winner of the UEFA cup from the year before.

Scottish football has declined MUCH. It's not what it used to be. Even Celtic and Rangers have in Europe no chance at achieving some moderate succes.

Celtic under Martin O'Neil and Gordon Strachan could compete in Europe, but when you replace Strachan with a West Brom reject than you can't expect much.

Oh well, they were the club that gave us Hendrik Larssen, and what a talent he turned out to be.MacNificent

You're talking about Strachan like he is a good manager. Maybe he worked in the mickey mouse league, but down here, everything he touched turned to shit. He set BORO back about 2 years!!!

An LOL @ Tony Mowbray being a West Brom reject!!

Boro do tend to love former Celtic things though, it is odd.

But Scottish football is on one hell of a decline, but congratulations should go to Shamrock Rovers, first time for the Irish side in the Europa League proper.

Some good news: All the Scottish Celtic fans can be happy, because Celtic has replaced FC Sion in the Europa League. They succesfully protested against Sion, because they used non-registered players and they have been awarded their place.

Bad news: They are in a group with Atletico Madrid, Udinese and Stade Rennes.
I see a fourth place coming.

You mean 6. I doubt they'll get a point (Maybe if they all play unregistered players they'll win)

well not too sure how good Stade Rennais are,and Italian teAMs don't take the Europa league seriously,so They could play Udinese B or C.Plus knowing Udinese, they might try find a transfer market loophole to sell more players by then.

Oh I didn't know Italien teams didn't take it seriously. Okay they may get a few points then. Also SR aren't exactly going to win it, but they should do decent if they qualify for the next round.
