Is it just me or does anyone else get annoyed with cage matches in WWE, when they can just walk out the door. I feel it ruins it, why do people try to climb out. I know applying logic to wrestling is stupid as there is non but I get really annoyed.

I remember in a number 1 contenders match between Sheamus, Orton and Barrett, Barrett had an injured hand so couldn't climb out without the help of Punk (who didn't help him in the end) and the commentators were like "He doesn't have any other choice, he can't get out without help"... Errrr... Door anyone?

Maybe it's just me but it really annoys me

i also think the cages are to small it takes to steps to climb over the top :(

The whole point of the cage for me, is they have to climb out to win. Forget pinfalls and whatnot. The door just ruins it.

Agreed, a thing I actually prefer about TNA, big cages, and they don't have openable doors unless Jarrett brings in a key

Yep, what is the point of having a cage if pinfalls count, although sometimes to avoid outside interferance

Yea, leave the door lock so the only way they can win is by climbing over the cage, I'm jus sayin...

It doesn't stop interference, they can climb inside the cage. It just takes a little longer to happen!

I tell you what :), I liked the steel cage that they once used at no way out where there was barbwires on the roofsides of it. Now that would be a hell of a climbing challenge for the wrestlers :D

Take the door escape method out of the equation and make it so you must climb the cage and have both feet touch the ground only for the win!

Obviously I could be wrong, but 99% of the time that this happens Bodom is right on top of this kinda thing and merges the threads, and since I see no such thing done kinda doubt there was one, but again "could" be wrong...

Cage Matches became less and less special with the invention of newer concepts. i.e HITC, ELimination Chamber, TLC match etc. etc
They were the way to end a feud back in the day and just phased out over time.
