View Full Version : Proof that certain wrestling fans will hate TNA no matter what they do..............

I just read that TNA have signed Mickie James, which I believe will be a very good signing. My gripe is this;
When WWE first released Mickie James there were many people saying TNA "needs to sign her", saying she would be "brilliant for TNA".
Now that she has signed for Dixie Carters company many "fans", including some of those that said how good she would be in TNA, are saying "oh great, another WWE reject", and "Mickie James is a bad signing" etc!!

Seriously guys, is it just me or does anybody else seem to think that no matter what TNA do, no matter how good it becomes, a large portion of wrestling "fans" will still crap all over it just because its not the WWE, and their puppet master (vince) is not the one behind it all??

The way I see it, there are two different types of wrestling fan................................

(1) The pro-wrestling fan - the fan that enjoys wrestling, both matches and storylines, no matter which promotion is showing it, as long as its entertaining. The fan that is not afraid to watch something new, something that none of his/her friends watch If you like it, you watch it and you support it, screw what everybody else thinks!!

(2) The pro-wrestling sheep - the fan that watches what all his friends/family/colleagues watch. The fan that is too frightened to have his/her own opinion and watch whichever show they like. The fan that is brainwashed into thinking WWE is what pro wrestling should be, and will not switch to a rival promotion no matter how bad the WWE gets!!

Sorry for ranting peeps, just had to get that off my chest lol :D:D:D

i totally agree with u...i bet u if hogan came back to wwe they would say omg its hogan awesome and not make fun of him...the factg is that people are used to wwe every week and cannot give another company a chance...i bet u if all the main stars from wwe came to tna they woull stild shit all over tna...just sayin tna is slowly going up house show numbers are up and ratings well they aint accurate as not everyone who watches impact has a nielson box and spike is not even half as big as usa network....so yeah...tna will get shiz on alot cuz people think its the right thing to do and bcuz vince made em think that

Man, I feel you. the only thing I disagree with wrestling is that they need to show more passion into building up rivaries, and show more prestige into their titles. i'm talking about both TNA and WWE.

well, well, well, finally someone that i agree totally with. WE have so many sheep in the rasslin community, i'm surprised there is any grass left. From the cena haters to the people that say fat hardy / meth hardy to vickie pissing on eddie's grave all i can say is i feel sorry for you if you think this is what most people that watch rasslin think. Be original, in other words be you, dont hate because you think thats the norm, it isnt, it just shows your lack of intelligence. hater's are going to hate but the thing is no one is listening and that my friend is real, damn real.

i am one of those people who speak about wwe rejects but mickie james in my opinion is not one and either is mr anderson or rvd i think those 3 are great signings and the pope is one to now that ive seen him grow but back after he was released and first signed i thought it was a horrible move and them signing another wwe reject it just depends on the wrestler they sign in my opinion. i personally dont watch tna anymore bc the storylines looked liek they have been done before with some of the same wrestlers if you know what i mean and the hogan and flair thing just pissed me off and i dont want to watch their saggy bodes on tv anymore

I don't know of anyone at this site at least who thinks Vince is so great. In fact, I think we can all pretty much agree he's lost his marbles to a large degree.

Anyway, if you are going to reference what other "fans" are saying, maybe provide a link or two for example. There's too many types of posts like this, where someone randomly fires a cannon across the deck, thereby avoiding real debate with those who might actually hold this opinion - because to aim is to blame right? These broad sweeping generalisations of how others see things are inaccurate and unfair, since the right of reply is nullified by the lack of any sort of clarity regarding your target.

Let me break it down for you. I don't consider myself a "WWE sheep" but I do think that TNA signing Mickie James is not necessarily a good thing. The same as if they signed Matt "Pity Party" Hardy - how much do you think they're going to add to this company? Should TNA push Mickie hard, thereby disrespecting all their current Knockouts by making them look inferior? Should they bury Mickie in order to make themselves look more over? Either way, you know that there's at least 2 Knockouts that are going to suffer at the cost of signing Mickie James. All that exposure this 'marquee' signing will get has to affect someone - my picks are Taylor Wilde & Hamada.
And I love Mickie James and the Knockout division in TNA. But really, I don't know where she will fit. I also wonder what they are paying her in relation to the other Knockouts.

Don't rag on the "fans" when it's Dixie Carter and Eric Bischoff who are actually the ones who are putting so much value in all these ex-WWE stars that they are rushing to sign which has given birth to 3 new problems -
1)The REAL talent of TNA is being held back and overlooked because of it
2)They seem to have no forethought, when signing them, of what the hell to do with them or how to book them
3)They must be running out of money

They are so blinded by the glare of excitement generated by signing a 'name' that it's spoiling everything in TNA. If it keeps up this way, tuning into TNA will in a year or two (providing they are still a functioning company) will be like watching WWE's 3rd brand. I liked TNA better before the 'WWE Invasion'.

That's why signing Mickie James might not be the best thing for TNA.

Totally with you on this Robstar. Mickie James is an AWESOME talent, #1 womans wrestler IMO. But, TNA just gets way too happy with mere NAMES. I have no problem with them signing her, my problem is when they pay her (and many other UNDESERVING wrestlers) more money than let's say Kong who has been there ages ago and has helped build the company and its fanbase. Right around when Kong was still there, the KO segments were the ones they rated highest. Now , they have Tara (excellent wrestler also) but, the KO's division stinks. You need a balance between new and established.

The KO division stinks in your opinion, when in fact it has been the highest rated segment on impact aside from a few main events. And if you look at the roster in TNA, youll notice that 80 to 90% of the TNA roster is former WWE employes. Only a very select few can say they have had no dealings with the WWE, one being Sting....(NAME!!!). Hotrod's post is dead on the mark. Some people will criticize no matter what. Unfortunately the sheep outnumber the fans, and no matter how you spin it, thats the reason WWE has the ratings, they have the sheep.

I have no problem with who they sign. I do have a problem with their rehashed story lines. It's WCW all over again and look what happened. Also, there never seems to be any follow up, a feud starts between two guys and then... nothing. TNA claims to push "their" guys but I every time they sign a former WWE guy, a title is immediately put on him (her). TNA has solid talent and can be fun to watch but the story lines are not good. Also, I get angry when TNA is the trendy pick because they are "So much better" than WWE. Have of those wrestlers don't sell their moves. Cena gets busted on for his amazing comebacks, watch TNA and they are all "SuperCena." Sorry to bust on TNA so harshly, I like better than I make it sound.

A huge thing holding TNA back is that they cant build their own talent and make these guys look like stars. TNA cant make anyone a big name... unless they're simply PHENOMENAL.

Its like the new kid in school. If the kid is cool enough, different enough from the rest of the kids, everyone flocks to him. They want to learn about the things he has done and what else he can do. But eventually the new kid becomes the old kid and the others just aren't as interested in him anymore. TNA is no longer the new kid and they are progressively becoming more and more like the others. We (I dont at least) dont hate TNA though, we are just want the new kid feel back.

SMH. You really have no idea have you? Have you ever heard the expression that if one person says something, so what, but if dozens and dozens are saying the same thing, then maybe you should take notice? Probably not. So if there was 100 people who'd say Hardy was a whinger and 100 who'd say he isn't, then why is only one of those groups sheep? Are they all sheep or all groups of free thinkers who feel the same? You want to carry on about IQ, yet you cannot seem to work out where punctuation should be applied.

Baaaaa might be right in this case - as in be careful you don't get BARRED from this site. Your constant personal insults to other users has been noted on several occasions. If you can't work out how to debate a point without childish insults, I will escort you to the door myself. Ok, dude?

I bring up valuable points in all my post and I get people thinking, in the future i will be more sensitive to the people that cant get my humor. Its sad i hurt your feelings and you act like a tough guy (on the internets) because you feel my so called insults upset you. FYI insults only hurt if they fit. By the way i will be writing to the owners and let them judge my post. Last but not least the only door you can show me is your mom's backdoor. (its called a joke, deal with it and lighten up)

It has nothing to do with being a sheep. TNA had their own thing going when they had the six-sided ring, the innovation of the Ultimate X matches, the 6-sided cages, but when Hogan and Bischoff came in and decided that the company didn't need that type of stuff, that's when things went downhill. And I personally don't care to see Mickie James in TNA. I enjoyed the knockouts of the past. Awesome Kong, The Beautiful People, Taylor Wilde's great, but not getting used the right way and Tara was even a good signing. I really don't care to see another WWE performer in TNA. That all ended with Kennedy. This was supposed to be a guy that was going to be given the company at WWE, but threw it away with a failed drug test that ended up giving us Hornswoggle as Vince McMahon's son. I don't want to see Tommy Dreamer, and I don't want to see AJ forcing himself to be a heel. I'll watch just because I'm a fan of both and I love wrestling, but it doesn't mean that I have to like the direction that the company's going.

There are some people who will just lap up whatever is put in front of them, half assed movies, moronic TV and rubbish wrestling shows. A lot of the people who complain aren't doing it because they're bad wrestling fans or sheep etc, it's because we want our voices to be heard so that these companies start making more of an effort to improve their show, instead of sitting back and throwing any old crap at us.

If you had been going to your favourite restaurant for years, then one day they started serving you dog food, you'd obviously complain. That's how a lot of wrestling fans feel about WWE and TNA these days. We've been loyal supporters, we've followed wrestling since we were kids, but suddenly they replace the great wrestling and gripping stories with dancing, z-list celebrities, old men trying to act like teenagers, pantomime characters and other such rubbish.

I used to be a WCW sheep. I watched it to it's end, and I missed out on so much of what WWF were doing around the same time. I watched WCW during the glory years and kept with it, regardless of how bad it became. I have now learnt from this. If TNA start to suck I will look else where. But TNA are on fire, they are doing so many things right and I am really enjoying watching their shows. I have no idea why so many people are slagging it off. I guess they're jelous I mean look at the WWE a 2.8 in the ratings. WOW! As far as TNA goes just read the good that people write and if it's bad then it must be from a sheep.

Thanks to all the guys agreeing with me, im glad its not just me that gets wound up about this.
Also just to clarify, I fully understand everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and we all prefer different things, but my main gripe is with the "fans/SHEEP" that bitch and moan about TNA yet haven't even bothered to actually watch any TNA shows before crapping all over it, they just pan it because its the "cool thing to do".

I remember when everybody loved John Cena, then a handful of fans started booing him, and before long everybody was booing him because it was the "cool thing to do".

I remember when everytime TNA did something that sucked, one or two fans would chant "fire Russo", before long everybody was chanting it because it was the "cool thing to do".

Now people crap all over TNA, and everything it does, because its the "COOL F***ING THING TO DO"!!!!!!

I think it's those damm kids from the WWE forum poping over here trying to start trouble. But it does get on peoples nerves when they have no idea what they're talking about, because what I watch each week from TNA is great, love the matches, love the storylines, current wrestlers and legends is a good mixture, I hope it continues this way.

People bitch and moan about everything. I like WWE; the spectacle, the stars and the matches they have. The thing about TNA is thats its too chaotic there is no picking order whatsoever. I just do not care about them. They just come over as cheap imitations from the attitude era. and the new shit they come up with is terrible (Orlando Jordan's gimmick for example; purely there to shock people). The matches are boring aswell, so called chain wrestling looks redicilous. In my opinion a match should tell a story and not cram as many different moves in one match to make it seem "fast paced". The next match they show is just a couple of old hasbins trowing hands (Nash/Flair/Hogan generally). If they really want to help TNA they should stay off the air and really help the talents. They made a joke out of AJ styles one of the few TNA stars i like. Samoa Joe has also been missused. The 2 top dogs of the company replaced by 2 drugaddicts. TNA is a show thats too unorganised and have no clear direction of what they want to be. TNA is not the new attitude era although they try so hard to be. WWE had the stars to make it work and TNA clearly does not.

Hahah this is a classic post, this thread is about people like you slagging off TNA on every occation. You like WWE well good for you, I used to before it went all PG and the big names either retired or moved to TNA. No picking order in TNA? Watch an episode and you will see TNA has a top 10 contenders, and unlike WWE they wrestle like they care about winning the title someday.

Matches well boring? Hahahaha anyone who has been watching TNA recently will get a good laugh out of your post. Please brother just watch it once and you will see some amazing matches on there.

The oldies are on the air because they are helping the talents and Flair is a brilliant example of this.

I'm not going to carry this on because you clearly have your opinions and sadly your missing out so much not watching TNA. If WWE is good for you and you enjoy it then great. But we here enjoy TNA very much and are discussing folks like you who give no real credit to TNA for anything that they do good. All people like you do is look for the negatives and view your own bias remarks about a great company on the up.

You are so on the money about the two kinds of wrestling fans. WWE marks are not new, they have been annoying everyone on the internet since the Monday night wars. They have ruined wrestling. I'll never forget going to a then WWF event years ago and hearing these jackasses chanting BORING at a great technial match between Christ Benoit and Dean Malenko. Then they pop big time for Scotty Too Hotty doing the worm.

About the fire Russo chants, old school fans do this because we hate his vision of wrestling. TNA's main weakness is his sloppy writing...Remember the whole Samoa joe being kidnapped thing? Not only was it a bad angle, but they never explained who did it. And that's just one example. Tna has all the talent in place if they would just fire Russo and find someone who could book a true alternative to the WWE.

If TNA did fire Russo then who could replace him? I'm not hot on wrestling writers out there. I know many want Heyman, but if he wants a lot of control of the company and Dixie doesn't want to give it then that's not going to happen. So the question is who could take over writing?

Its called "SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT" not "guys in speedos trading headlocks and hip tosses for 15 minutes." I don't think any one should pop for the worm either, just don't insult them for enjoying the spectacle. I doubt most of the fans know what a three-quarter front face-lock bulldog is (good for you if you do know). When you watch a movie do sit there and think about how hard it is to set up those camera angles, or editing the shots to perfectly time with the music? Do you think about the year or two of work that goes into making a two hour movie? No, you just want to see Tony Stark beat up the bad guy. Yes it is hard to execute a submission move and make it look like you are hurting the guy without actually hurting him. But spinebusters and elbow drops look cooler (and they are two of the safest moves and two of the least damaging moves you can do).

If you really enjoy the technical aspect so much, why aren't you supporting your local high school or college team? Maybe you even do, I don't know, but it is SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT and no matter how TNA wants to dress it up, that's exactly what they do too. Seriously, if you want to watch mat technicians, watch amateur wrestling or MMA.

I actually think they would do better if they did not hire another writer. Instead a old school booker who gives the talent direction but let's them cut their own promo's and get theirselves over. I know I'm going to get crucified for saying this but Kevin Sullivan wouldn't be a bad move. He was booking WCW during their hottest run with the NWO, Horsemen vs Dungeon of Doom etc. At one time wrestling had NO writers and to me that was the best period in wrestling. Any other ideas on who could do the booking? Most old school guys who could do it or under contract with WWE. I'd love to see Cornette get it.

You know I would actually love one of the feds to listen to ideas from the fans. I know the WWE clearly doesn't want any input or contact from fans regarding shows or storylines, it states that on the site.

But if I were owner and I had good fans with ideas and suggestions I would welcome new fresh stories.

TNA isn't doing anything different than WWF/E or WCW, as far as getting names.

Some names get big, some get lost in the shuffle.

Taz got lost in the shuffle in WWF. Goldberg became human (and I liked that, apparently he didn't). Scott Steiner got a push, then got nothing.

Dudleyz elevated the tag division to it's peak. Public Enemy got shit on. Ric Flair (early 90's) was instantly a top guy. Mick Foley became a top guy.

It's the wrestling business. The only issue everybody seems to have with TNA is that a lot of well known names have come in all within a year. But I'm perfectly fine with it. Whatever helps TNA get more "up there". I agree that it sucks to see Kevin Nash out there still trying to have a match and act like he's a top dog. But he's no Undertaker. He is better to watch than Khali... but not by a whole lot. Sting still has stuff left in him. The ECW thing.... eh, it is what it is. I think it's ok as a faction. But you can't say TNA's "originals" aren't getting their shot. Come on, really.... Shark Boy isn't gonna be ascending to the top and taking TNA with him. Samoa Joe, I think he's a great wrestler. But his time has come and gone. Maybe he should get a new shot with WWE, pick up from Umaga's top mid card spot. Or go back to ROH and help it pick up more steam with Daniels.

The X Division and Knockout division DOES need some TLC, as well as the mid card (and its title)... but everything else is great.

I don't see TNA as a "WWE Reject" place. I see TNA as the place where all wrestlers, past, present, and future, come to get a better shot or make a name for themselves, and not be limited by WWE. Some guys can make their name in TNA... like AJ or Joe.... and potentially make it to WWE and be a top name. And hey, good for them if it happens.

Could not agree with you more. Vince has such a huge ego, he fails to see that one day, it will be a fan with a lot of knowledge (not to mention money) that will ruin his business. Everyone says it won't happen, they're too rich, but look at WCW - they had stacks of money and still flubbed it. Trust me - WWE is not invunerable. And it will be all Vince's fault
