Yea I posted this in the WWE room because it involves all wrestling. Mods, feel free to move it though. I've seen several people here say it and I've read it elsewhere but I don't get it. All these people say that the best wrestling is in the independents. They act like WWE and TNA have no good wrestling. Why is this? Yea there's good wrestling out there in the indys but some of these indys just suck! Some of these indy-freaks act like independent wrestling is automatic gold. Explain please.

EDIT:

Depends on the indy, really.

Upper-tier indies tend to specialise in strong style (ROH), lucha libre (CHIKARA) or deathmatch wrestling (CZW) - with most having a mixture of all three - wrestling styles that really aren't present in WWE or TNA. And almost all of them focus much more heavily on in-ring workrate and "competition" than intricate storylines and promo-heavy shows. I guess they will feel shit if you've been a hardcore WWE mark all your life, and really fucking hate anything being different than your comfort zone.

Then there are indy feds that just flat out suck balls. Like the kind that draws about 50 people to your local high-school gym. Most of them should be avoided tbh.

(And WWE and TNA have good wrestling. RARELY.)

This and because indys rely on actual wrestling to draw people in because people a. don't know any of their talent and b. don't have the writers to come up with storylines or any way to put storylines across

While indys do rely on actual wrestling to draw people in, it's more because the type of people who watch indy wrestling are smartened up to the business enough to recognise and appreciate good wrestling / high workrate.

A is simply not true in this day and age. Several indy wrestlers (Chris Hero, Austin Aries, Davey Richards, Kevin Steen etc.) who could be considered genuine money draws just because they're well known within the circuit, even if they aren't exactly "household names" per se.

Occasionally though, they book guys that ARE well known. Here are some names that have been booked to shows in 2011 so far in ROH/PWG/CHIKARA: Dave Taylor, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, Low-Ki (Kaval), Jake Roberts, Sean Morley (Val Venis), Roddy Piper, Tatanka, Terry Funk, Jimmy Hart, Tito Santana, Savio Vega, Chavo Guerrero Sr, Bob Orton, Shane Douglas, Sean Waltman, Kizarny, Manami Toyota and various guys from Japan.

B is true, (although in this day and age, youtube/facebook etc exists as a good platform to push storylines) but it seems to imply that indy feds don't have any storylines. Just for clarity: they very much do. They're admittedly a bit of a mixed bag, but (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnSVxKqpjYM) there (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6hp4X-cVKs) are (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMKFyyPZ1xw) occasional (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lG_nSwQn3E) gems (http://www.megavideo.com/?v=9LDI7IP1). The Steen-Generico feud actually won the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Feud of the Year 2010 award... and by a large margin.

Actually WWE and TNA can and do have some great wrestling mostly saved for their PPVs or a Main Event/Title match on Raw or Smackdown or Impact!!!!
But you have to know where to look in the Indys..... You have ROH, NWA and their many territories, CZW, PWG, OVW, ECWA, several organizations in Texas, Shimmer and many more.....including wrestling schools such as Dory Funk Jr Funking Conservatory, WXW and not to forget WrestleReunion which features a mix or Legends and some new stars as well....

Some of the best either starts out in the Indys or is sucluded to the Independent scene after a run in TNA or WWE.....
