Looks like Sting is now in the record books as the 4th oldest wrestler to ever win a world title.

From the Master of Deception, Ryan Clark:

After last night's TNA World title win in Fayetteville, North Carolina, it appears as though Sting is now the fourth oldest man to ever win a World title.

The oldest would be Verne Gagne at 54, followed by Terry Funk at 53 and Nick Bockwinkel at 52. Sting is now 51. Coincidentally, this is the same age Ric Flair was when he won his last World title.

Other older World champions that Sting has surpassed include Hulk Hogan at 48, Lou Thesz at 46 and Jerry Lynn at 46.

Would it make more sense to put the title on AJ or Joe?

Would it make more sense to put the title on AJ or Joe?

Precisely since they are the face of the company. It would make more sense then having Sting win the title out of nowhere.

Of course it would but TNA isn't about making sense. I like Sting but this is all time dumb booking if you ask me.

Probably TNA wanting to "rub it in" Vince's Nose.

You guys remember No Surrender 09 when Sting jumped out of the ring on to Matt Morgan to allow AJ Styles to get the Pin on Kurt Angle to become the New TNA World Champ, to sorta of symbolizes the passing of the torch to the new generation?

................................. yeah me neither.

Probably TNA wanting to "rub it in" Vince's Nose.

But Vince is probably snickering at this. WWE was gonna sign Sting for 1 match against The Undertaker; TNA has signed Sting to be the face of the company. A 51 year old man, along with a bunch of 60 year old men, are the posterboys of TNA. I.......I just don't get it.

I didn't know that being the world champ for a short time made you the face of a company.
Didn't think that Hardy was the face of TNA

A little off subject... but did anyone count how many times "security" ran out to break people up yesterday? Almost every segment!

where's the bunch of 60 year old men? The only active competitor that's in his fifties is Sting and that's it!

Taz said it best, if the security was paid per appearance, they'd be rich

Good for Sting? At least he can wrestle better than Hogan, when Hogan was 48, or whenever he won the title as mentioned on the first page. Its still better than Jeff Hardy as champion.

matt morgan could have been champ but noooo they give the title to mr anderson sorry but i don't like him i don't like his gimmick at all and the whole asshole thing well it is not relevant to me i want to see matt morgan get the belt i think he would be a better world champion than junkie hardy, sting and anderson OR they give it to RVD but him or morgan must have held it at least once at the end of this year

Well hogan and flair are 60 years old. With Flair going into a fued with AJ i'd say he's active.

flair is semi-retired, and hogan can barely walk so the only person that's over 50 and is still full time is Sting
