we've all seen the wrestler, beyond the mat, wrestling with shadows, even man on the moon, but i think the best wrestling stories are yet to be told in cinema. what wrestler would like to see a movie about? for me it would be dusty rhodes. the guy had legendary matches, just oozed charisma, had probably the best mic skills of all time, and became a hero for a nation of hardworking people chasing the american dream. anytime i watch his hof promo, i can't help but think of how great a movie about his life would be. i could easily see phillip seymour hoffman playing dusty. i could already imagine the trailer for the movie ending with dusty saying "when i was growing up, i sure didn't think 265 lbs of blue eyed soul would captivate the country like i have". anyways, i'm a huge movie and wrestling fan, and would love to see more movies about wrestlers like i'm sure many of you do too.

I would love to see Dusty in a wrestling movie! He seems like the perfect HOFer to be in one.
If its not possible, then I'd like to see Golddust. His new book has just been released, and hes a great man. Would love to see him showing how to business works, without exposing too many secrets, just like The Wrestler did.

Nacho Libre was actually kind of funny. But yeah they both did suck.

The Wrestler wasn't too bad!

It made some legends cry, so it must have touched them. It was actually a good movie.

Sorry for reminding y'all of these turds.

Nacho Libre was legendary (in a tongue in cheek kind of way). if only for that song in it

"I am, I am. I am, I am. I am, I am".

Whenever I wanna annoy the wife I sing that song!

That other thing doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath ; )

This thing on the other hand...

The Von Erich story is a movie waiting to be made. I'm suprise no one has capitilized on this yet, even if most the names and stuff have to be changed. It could be done effectively imo

There's a film on TV this week called Wrestlemaniac

While driving a van through Mexico looking for a location for shooting a low-budget porn, Alphonse, Steve, Dallas, Debbie, the alcoholic Daisy and the pothead Jimbo get lost and meet a stranger in a remote gas station run out of gas in the middle of nowhere. The man gives the directions for the nearest gas station, and advises the group to avoid the ghost town La Sangre de Dios. Steve recalls the Mexican legend about the best Mexican wrestler, El Mascarado, who became crazy and started killing his opponents, and was sent to this town later. The director Alphonse decides to trespass the gate of La Sangre de Dios and shoot the film in the local bar. Sooner the group discovers that Mexican legends sometimes are true.
Sounds like it'll be so bad it's good.
