View Full Version : WWE title MITB match ending?

I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread about this already.

Was the ending botched, with the handle snapping? If it was a weakened handle so that ending could take place why didn't it fall while Jericho was hanging from it?

Apparently Miz was scheduled to win:
Interestingly enough, WWE (http://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news?Item%5Btags%5D=WWE).com may have given away the surprise. On the site's main page, the main image being used for the WWE (http://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news?Item%5Btags%5D=WWE) Title Money in the Bank match has the filename of 40134_MITB_Cena-and-rest_NO_MIZ.jpg. This would indicate that The Miz (http://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news?Item%5Btags%5D=The%20Miz) will be added since they are differentiating between the images with The Miz (http://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news?Item%5Btags%5D=The%20Miz) and without.

The look on Cena's face as well when he won he lookd legit shocked as he didnt react straight away, he just looked at the case with a WTF look on his face.

Thoughts? Was it a botch? Was it supposed to happen?

This has been discussed in other threads.

Anyway on topic; if you read the story as it came out, all the above indicated was that Miz was going to be put in the match, not that he was going to win! That was the surprise.

Actually, it even says in the same article:

DespiteThe Miz (http://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/7380/news?Item%5Btags%5D=The%20Miz) being added, the plan as of yesterday was still to have John Cena (http://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/7380/news?Item%5Btags%5D=John%20Cena) win the match.

Cena was supposed to win but yeah it seem it was a botch he probably supposed knock Show off the latter then grab the breifcase but it broke, but hey it is a better finish

I miss read that LOL, when it said the plan as of yesterday, I interpreted it as the plan changed today from Cena winning.

Jericho was actually holding onto the line above the briefcase. I thought for a moment about that but then realized where his body actually was. He climbed above the briefcase just before he swung out.

Yep it was botched, I mean he was going to win but it broke...you know what would have being funny? That it broke before that and fell to the floor, I mena it would not be funny for them because that would have ruined what they have being doing but just the look of "Ohhhhhh s**t! what now?" would have being good.

It's Cena we're talking about, it was a work I can guarantee that.

Yup, it looked like a work. Notice how nobody pulled down on it before Cena won? It seemed rigged that way and actually came off with ease.

Santino tried it! LOL.

Work or not, Cena sold it well, he seemed surprised.

Well it wasn't exactly a botch, since it was nobody's fault that the handle broke. It just broke, but point is, it wasn't meant to happen.

I wasn't surprised by this. That was the most predictable MITB match ever.

As soon as Cena announced he was in, you just knew that he was going to win it, especially with the way he kept going on about how it was his first time in the match etc.
