....Ok, I'm not sure if this ever happens to anyone else, but whenever I'm watching wrestling on my computer and a friend looks at my screen to see what I'm doing it's always a really embarressing segment?

Most of my friends don't like/ know nothing about wrestling and whenever they glance at my screen I can guarentee it won't be during a white knuckle match between CM Punk and DBryan. It won't be hardcore chaos with Abyss and Bully Ray. It won't be impressive powerhouses like Ryback. It won't be Sin Cara doing some impressive air assult. It won't be any wrestler doing anything amazing that we all love.

No.

I can guarentee any time a friend looks at my screen, it'll be The Funkasaurus dancing backstage or Horswoggle jumping about like a clown. Or it's actually be Doink the Clown himself. It'll be Sting pretending to be The Joker. It'll be Goldust feeling up another man in the ring. It'll be someone cutting a really childish promo.

And then I'll get the same old "hahaha what's this crap you're watching?!"

This ever happen to anyone else on a regular basis?

Hahahahahahaha yes!!!!!! I'll be watching Raw on my laptop, one of my housemates will walk past and it'll always be some lame as hell segment. They'll look at it and think "Wtf are you watching??"

You're right, it's never a proper wrestling match. Always something lame haha!!

haha, yeah it happens like that. In fact a friend of mine came over just as I was watching the whole CM Punk/AJ/Daniel Bryan will you marry me segment. Yeah quite embarrassing I must say.

A couple of years back I was watching Raw than my parents walked in and saw DX shove Eric Biscoff's face into Big Dick Johnsons ass. Not a good mix when you're parents are super Christian.

or back in the late nineties someone would walk in on you watching a Womans match/backstage segment which was a little bit to close to soft porn

I'd ask them why they were being so nosey about what I'm watching, then ask them to please put their blow up doll away when I go to their house. That usually shuts them up.

This is one of the reasons why WWE is going to die soon. It's probably the only show on TV people are genuinely ashamed to watch.

You're clearly oblivious to 98% of the shit on TV today.

How so? Nothing has the embarrassment factor that WWE has. Not sports, not Jersey Shore, not Family Guy.

Too Right! There are tons more on TV that I would be way more embarrassed if caught watching than wrestling. Jersey Shore being at the top of that list. I would expect someone to shoot me for watching that crap.

I always hear people say that they are embarrassed watch stuff like the jersey shore. On ther other hand i let people know that I'm a wrestling fanatic and proud.

I'd happily stand in the middle of a public street masturbating furiously, rather than watch Jersey Shore.

Next time I want to see anybody from that programme on my tv, is a news item telling me they've all been gunned down!

I dont watch wrestling when my friends are over because well i am actually hanging out with them. Ot watching tv while they are doing something else, there would be no point of them coming over. With that said this is. Funnynthread though

Fuck what other people think. But if anyone does talk shit i'll just take the piss out of something they like. It's swings and roundabouts. Example, my teen sister tries to get clever about it, i'm like "Shut up you dickhead! Isn't TOWIE on OMG!! SHUT AP! trololololol!!!"

Asherdelampyr
07-11-2012, 03:38 PM
I've never had anyone actually try to talk shit about me watching wrestling, even though I wear wrestling shirts over the weekend at work, and have pictures and merch on my desk. Could be that it's because I'm in Texas, but even in Utah nobody gave a damn.

All of my friends watch reality shows, so when they tell me I am "gay" for watching Pro Wrestling then I just tell them that we are even. Reality shows are just as scripted.

When someone asks me how I could like something "Fake" I always bring up action movies. seems to work

The thing I don't understand is why people think that they need to tell those, who watch pro wrestling, that it's fake. Most of entertainment is either scripted or fake and you don't see people telling stating the obvious there. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the only real things shown on TV are sports and the news. That's about it.

Agreed.. and when you tell them not only that you know it's fake but you still watch it.. and they just looked stunned.. and when you ask if they watch movies they try to point out how different that truly is

This is actually one of the reasons I don't watch wrestling with people I know don't watch or like wrestling, the constant explaining or arguing is just a headache. The last time I had to do this was a few years back when I was at my uncles. I spent an hour arguing with him about how wrestlers spend more time training and working then most other athletes who's seasons have extended breaks each year..... and then DX came out and dumped a portapotty on the McMahons and a group of cheerleaders

people try and take the piss and call me sad all the time for it, on my football team theres 3 of us that watch wrestling and we turn up every saturday talking about smackdown from the night before. Thats when everyone proceeds to take the piss. funnily enough they still all seem to know what we're talking about though..
