View Full Version : Favorite Shoot interviews?

Shoot interviews may just be the best (or worst, depending on your point of view) thing in the biz. Its great to listen to wrestlers talk "openly" about they're careers. I've seen over 200 and still want more.

As the title suggests, what are your favourite sit down interviews? Or who are your favourite interviewee's?

I've yet to see chuck taylor (the Jon heder of wrestling) but London and kendricks excellent adventure is a gem! Billy Jack Haynes is one (or two) to watch as well

The sheik is one of the top 3 when it comes to these things. Have you seen the clip when he slaps the piss out of his manager Eric simms after an incident with the ultimate warrior!

Also Bob Holly calling out ken Anderson is worth checking out.

Loved the Paul London & Brian Kendrick interview! I always like to hear Ric Flair as well as Rob Van Dam. Love Raven Shoots! I was watching a Guest Booker with Raven interview but it was only a preview... It looked so interesting like he was talking about booking Kevin Knash and Scott Hall in ECW during the mid 90's! At what point did you decide to become the EWN's interviewer? Was it a natural progression or a conscious decision?

Silverdust
11-27-2010, 12:50 PM
It was a conscious decision to analyze and inquire why EWN members feel the way they do about any particular subject whether in a poitive or negative light. Sometimes statement are made without explanation and I am here to uncover the dirt!

Now, were you a wrestling fan during Summerslam '92 (I think) when Bulldog vs. Bret Hart occurred at Wembley Stadium?

Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman shoot

Date 2010. Duration 2 hours 30 minutes.

INFO -
Over the years RF VIDEO has done hundreds of shoot style interviews with everyone in the business. Well on 9-11-10 we raised the bar as we conducted the most emotional and what will go down as the most controversial interview of all time in the history of the business. Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman gave RF VIDEO the greatest interview of all time and that is a shoot! In the past we have hyped up our interviews but this interview was unlike anything we have ever shot before. I really don't know where to even begin at but the mood for this interview was intense.

I get such a Kenny Powers vibe whenever I watch Nash shoot. I can't decide whether I think that's a good thing or not.

Mine personally was one that was done at ECW One Night Stand...05, I wanna say. Paul Heyman basically called out JBL, saying that the only reason why he was champ over on Smackdown for long was because Triple H didn't wanna work Tuesdays...And, plus he turned to Edge, (During the whole love triangle with Matt Hardy, who at the time was still fired) and said "Edge, I have only 2 words for you...MATT FREAKIN HARDY!"...The fact that he said TWO words, but ending up being three was hilarious enough. But the way he said that was pure hilarious.

*Shrugs*

So Yeah.

Nah, it's not a good thing (atleast, I don't think it is, anyway). Although, if Nash did have his own TV show, I would probably love it to bits.

Steve Janowski FTW!!!

Side note: I can't believe my thread has been bumped!!! I haven't watched a shoot interview in months.

I think this was the last one I watched... Missy and HTM... Two of my favourite shootmeisters, right there!

Any interesting bits of dirt or whatever from that shoot?

I've been rewatching all the Raws/Smackdowns/PPVs from 2000 over the past few months, (gotten as far as Backlash) and was pleasantly surprised at just how great a worker Rikishi was during that period. If it weren't for the invasion and all the injuries he suffered throughout 2001, I reckon he could've been a major main event player.

If it weren't for the invasion and all the injuries he suffered throughout 2001, I reckon he could've been a major main event player.

One interesting bit from the shoot is where he talked about the big bump where Taker threw him off the Hell in the Cell and onto the truck with a pile of hay and how he was down on the whole idea of doing that and also thought it would have been a career-ender so he whispered to Taker's ear during the spot where he was going to get thrown off and told him to tell his kids and wife that he loves them if he gets hurt. I would be scared too if I took such a bump off the Hell in the Cell!

Another good bit is where he talks about the Rikishi gimmick and how he was against the gimmick at first because he didn't want his kids to get teased in school for it but his family pushed for the gimmick and he went along with the gimmick ever since. He also told some very funny Iron Sheik road stories too! ;)

I too thought Rikishi would have been a great main eventer. He could move for his size and he had pretty good matches with Triple H, Stone Cold, and The Rock. He would've made a good WWE Champion IMO.

I liked the idea of the Ultimate Warrior one, but i always got the impression that he didnt quite understand what the purpose of a shoot is. He kept getting angry at the interviewer when hed ask him to recall things from the past. I felt like they never sat him down and explained that shoots are for the fans and that silly things like his thoughts on matches with Gino Hernandez in WCCW in 1986 are important.

Ill give him a pass cause hes always on the defense due to the IWC distorted view of his place in Wrestling.
I.E. The self destruction of the Ultimate Warrior.

Kendrick London one was great.
Arn Anderson was good too, hes just so genuine and still holds some Kayfabe
Avoid Billy Jack Haynes, hes sooo angry.

Just watched the London and Kendrik Adventures one today. Some funny stuff there man. And some actual good inside knowledge of the business and stuff, that I kinda didn't acually know. Love hearing about their stories with other guys. I also kinda agree with them about the ladder matches, the sole purpose of the match is to keep trying to get the belt. And I kinda liked the THE Brian Kendrik gimmick for a while.

But it definitely further rams in the fact that most of the wrestlers have huge psychological issues, and are just fully grown children nutjobs!

Cheers for postin this here Kash. Gonna move onto something else that I'll find in here.

'droo, I am loving that you are checking these shoots out. Some of the links are dead, but thankfully you got to see the Londrick one. If those guys are lying throughout I'll eat my cyber hat. The stories they told couldn't be made up. The one about Benoit and Noble wanting to bash one out while London shagged that waitress was GOLD! The one about Trevor Murdoch was a good 'un, too. The Adventures of London and Kendrick just may be my favourite shoot of all time, just for the weird special effects that highspots video edited in.

Check out the Shieky Baby, New Jack and HTM for a hair raising experience.

Vampiro has a shoot interview out now.

He basically calls out Jericho and says that the stuff he wrote in his book was wrong and that Jericho is some type of hypocrite for doing all the things he does outside of wrestling. Even going as far to say that he (Vamipro) made it and Jericho didn't in terms of certain aspects of success.

I love Vampiro. He is the ultimate when it comes to these strange claims. This is the same guy who claimed that Eddy Guerrerro passed away because his heart just gave up on him, like it was just some natural occurrence.

Weird fuck.

I hear there is a shoot interview that came out in 2009 with Billy Jack Haynes in which he shoot on Vince McMahon claiming Vince was the father of Chris Benoit's son Daniel. I cannot find it but that is an odd claim to say the least.

The link should be in this thread. Billy made a lot of out there claims. When he said the part about Daniel, he was on a bit of a rant, and the main point he was making was that he was told that Nancy had some kind of tryst with Vince when she was an aspiring manager. The tryst being a blow job in the back of a limo. Apparently this pushed Benoit one step closer to the edge, and it plagued his thoughts something chronic.

Same. I don't get how they would think its a step in a good direction for him from being a badass heel to pinning D'Lo Brown in a shop because he thinks hes C'Lo Green.

I have confidence EY can bounce back though, hopefully :S
