It's about time. No offense to Capello, but a National team should be coached by a coach of that nationality and he wasn't doing that great if I recall.

The question I keep asking myself is: Is John Terry worth this fuss?

Answer: No, he's not good enough, as either a defender, nor role model.

Hopefully we'll get someone English to take over.

By the way this probably is just an easy reason to quit England for Capello, I can't believe this Terry-gate is the actual reason for him quitting.
Oh and Terry is so past his prime it's embarrassing.

I agree with everthing posted in this thread! Holloway won't get it, I like him but I want Redknapp!

I want Redknapp but with the way Tottenham is playing, I can't see it happening. If Capello resigned after Euro 2012 as originally agreed, then Redknapp might have become manager, since he wouldn't have any obligiations to fulfill.

We will lose to the French.

He's got a month before the a England friendly once the season finishes! Plenty of time!

I still think Spurs in CL again and the quality of the squad he built is gonna be too hard to turn down for him but there are no other good choices!

Southgate was actually a decent manager. Knows what he's talking about.

He'd easily be better then Steve McLaren.

Anyone could do it in Scotland with Celtic or Rangers :D

Southgate is good with the youth, that's why he's head of talent development for the FA starting soon!

While on one hand, I agree with this,

and he wasn't doing that great if I recall.

he was doing much better than most recent England managers. They might not have been playing pretty football under him, but they were getting the results (minus a few embarrassing slip ups).

Tough to call who the next manager will be. Good old 'Ary has surely blown his chance with the tax scandal. Roy Hodgson perhaps? He did well with Fulham, but has since flopped with Liverpool and has done average with West Brom.
Not really many options on the table for England as far as 'home grown' managers go.

A tad unfair. Hearts are pretty decent.

That is like saying Dutch 1st division is just Ajax and PSV or La Liga only has 2 tea--err...forget that last 1.

yeah for outsiders people only know Celtic and Rangers. It's the same with the dutch division. that's because our competition isn't as famous as the English, Spanish, Italian, and German league. The Scottish teams and the Dutch teams doesn't have the teams to be a serious contender for the CL
