Wales will dominate

Nah, seriously, Ireland and France are the clear favorites. Us vs Ireland tomorrow could define which one or the home nations has that run at the grand slam this year.

Hoping for a respectable place really. Maybe 3rd. Depends if we beat Scotland *fingers crossed*

How we've fallen in a mere 12 months!

They wanted so much to be like their footballing counter parts and now they are; no good!

Never know pal.

We were never expected to do well when we made the world cup finals.

I think Wales will win it perhaps even a grand slam.

France 2nd, Scotland 3rd, Ireland 4th, England 5th.

We will beat Italy but we will struggle against everyone else and cant see us beating Wales or France

Wade Barrett 1979

More down to Scotland mistakes than England dominance - but bearing in mind we are rebuilding and have a very novice team the win was a good win - and it was a win for the people. The peoples win

I'm now off to the local publican to watch us start our road to our Grand Slam!!
It'll be a close game for sure, but I have faith in our young team to do the job and win today!

It is indeed Ireland! Gutted I haven't gone out there to see it. I usually do, but I know that there'll be a great atmosphere at my local!

That was a very well ground out win for us. A great way to start off the campaign! France are our only treal threat for a championship/grand slam now!

To be honest, I think you'll do over the French! They only won through in the World Cup with blind luck!

You seriously saying that England are the one team from the 6 nations that poses a threat to NZ, SA and Aus? Dear Lord.

Well, it was a good match, for sure. Really enjoyed a rugby match for the first time in a long time.

I don't watch outside of the Internationals, but I really should - I definitely miss playing too!

Brilliant match, shame about the finihs but the ref made the right call; you can't give it if you can't make a decisive conclusion.

Just want to say I called it earlier!

And I'm proud to say that I know Scott Williams, the guy who scored the winning try, and we are now going to win the Grand slam!!

Forgot to do so last week, but it's time to resurrect this thread!

I'll address my own country's team game first.
If Wales had played in the first half as well as they did in the second, then they'd have won that game IMO. Or at least it would have been very close. I mean conceding 30 points in the first half was ridiculous. A good few changes have been made to the team today, and rightfully so. Adam Jones aside, the pack, and the other 2 front row players in particular, didn't challenge at all.
Ireland did well though, they're definite contenders for the Grand Slam. Let's see what they do against England this weekend!

England beating Scotland was academic. The Scots gave it a go, but couldn't really amass a greater challenge in the end.

Wow. What a win for Italy. Second year in a row they've beaten the French. No, they're not going to win the tournament (or are they...... :p ), but they're definitely looking better this year than they have in, well, forever lol! They can definitely push for their best ever finish in the competition no doubt.
As for France, well, they really look a shadow of the team that was pushing to win the world cup in recent competitions. Big task for the coach to sort them out.

Ireland making too many mistakes right now. I think they've had enough ball to do something with it, but they're just screwing up too much.

Go on England.

Tommy Thunder
02-10-2013, 11:50 AM
Hard hitting game there.
Is that it? Is that the Grand Slam in the bag for England? It's definitely hard to see how that won't be the case based on how the teams they're yet to play are right now.

VanHooliganX
02-11-2013, 10:20 AM
Only been watching highlights but thank god we beat Ireland.

Granted, it wasn't on St. Pats day and we didn;t crush them like last year but I'm having so much fun rubbing it in my GFs friends faces :)

I just can't seem to get into this sport. I do try and watch England whenever the internationals are on though, but it just never seems to click with me :( I will say that Rugby has a hell of a lot more sportsmanship than football. So respect for that.

I just realized how stupid my comment was, given that England are the only team that can win the GS now lol!

But yeah, I'd say that England are the team that are looking most likely to win now.

Good win for Wales. Wasn't exactly a great game I have to admit, but glad we got the job done. I'll be up in Scotland for the next game, mingling with the locals :D

Rather enjoyed the England vs France game too. Fantastic try from Fofana. Brilliant individual effort. Shame they couldn't hold out to win, but I never expected them to given that they were playing away.
Only Wales stands between England and the Grand Slam now.

Tommy Thunder
03-10-2013, 06:15 PM
Can't say that the Wales vs Scotland game was anything special yesterday. Great that we got the win but the amount of penalties that the ref was giving was a bit of a joke. Set a new record for the amount of penalties in one game apparently. Good that our defense didn't concede a try though.

Can't wait for the last set of games next week. Wales vs England for the Championship, the possibility of France finishing last for the first time since 1957. Exciting stuff!

Was a great weekend all in all. Scotland is always a good place to go watch a game since the locals are so friendly and welcoming. Didn't spend as much as I anticipated I would either which is a bonus.
Hoping that this annual rugby trip will become an annual thing as a uni reunion :)

Really looking forward to the England V Wales decider.

Wales have really hit a patch of form in this tournament and England, while being efficient, I don't think have shown anything special yet. I think it'll be a tight match and home advantage could be the decider for Wales.

France finishing bottom will be a bonus to boot. :D

Congrats Wales. I've not been really digging both sides of rugby for a few months now and the games yesterday were quite fun.

Fucking Italy winning twice in a season?!

France bottom and Ireland sharing the same amount of points?

Pretty good 6 nations. Excluding beating the Irish on St. Patricks Day at 1 of the sports they do care about was class, I didn't massively like 6 nations. Major improvement.
