View Full Version : "Supposed" Wrestlemania matches set up (as of now from wwe.com?)

So theres been alot of talk from some of you guys about wrestlemania matches.

Not one person said this though, so wwe.com has one up on us.

John Cena vs. The Rock with special guest referee CM Punk
The truly epic clash between the sports-entertainment’s greatest titans, The Cenation Commander-in-Chief and The People’s Champion, is exciting enough for the WWE Universe to mobilize to Miami on April 1. This includes CM Punk, whose used his so-called handheld “pipe bomb” to criticize the WrestleMania XXVIII main event. The Straight Edge Superstar may not be able to squeeze himself into the action, but he’d make a most impartial guest referee in that he presumably loathes both John Cena and The Rock equally. As long as the WWE Universe gets to see Punk compete in his own confrontation at WrestleMania earlier in the night, The Straight Edge Superstar could be the genuine X-factor in this match for the ages.

World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan has made it perfectly clear that he intends on carrying his Money in the Bank briefcase all the way to WrestleMania, where the submission specialist will aim to lock up the World Heavyweight Championship. If Randy Orton can withstand the challenge of Mark Henry this Sunday, The Viper will have just 195 days until The Show of Shows in Miami, where he’d meet The American Dragon with SmackDown’s richest prize at stake.

WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Big Show
There’s something about current WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio – arguably, the real deal – that makes you believe he can cling to the WWE Title for a fairly long time, by hook or by crook. The Mexican Aristocrat has taken out Rey Mysterio (twice) and been instrumental in the fall of Big Show – the angry giant who’ll be striving to be back in time for WrestleMania … not to mention some vengeance. Picture it now: The World’s Largest Athlete winning the big one on The Grandest Stage of Them All

--------------------------------------
so what that said, what do you think of wwe.coms approach to wreslemania?

I myself love the lay out so far.

Having Punk in there could be VERY interesting, as long as it doesn't take away from his own match!

I would rather see Rhodes v Bryan but that ain't gonna happen at WM! So I would take Orton v Bryan (obviously as long as Bryan wins!!!)

It's stating Del Rio as the champ? How old is this? Anyway, I'm not sure I'd want to see Show for the big one at WM and I'm not sure if Del Rio will main event 2 WM's on the spin!! Besides, everyone seems convinced Cena v Rock is for the title, especially if they are going to have a more than 1 match programme!!

EDIT: Sorry, ignore the Del Rio bit, I was typing and didn't see the above answers!!

I wouldn't hold my breath on these matches. Every match is subject to change.

it was posted about two weeks ago on wwe.com, i was doing some research into it and came across it

edit: i have no clue why everyone is convinced it is for the title, it has not been put out at all that the title would be at stake, only that it is a guaranteed match.

Ha! I missed your edit too, d'oh!! True, I'm not convinced it'll be for the title either! I think it's because Cena has stated it would be, so it's been taken as Gospel, that it will happen!

lol no problem. Yeah, maybe that's true about him saying it, but i just can't see it being a title match. I'm sure it will get more hype if it was, however i don't see the writers or vince himself doing that :p

They've been teasing Del Rio vs CM punk so maybe Punk wins the rumble and goes against del rio at WM....Bryan vs Orton sounds good thay way he can put Bryan over.....or win but drop the title at extreme rules in an I quit match or somethin submission. If they do thes 2 matches (plus cena-rock) wil be great.....itll be like Rock vs Hogan but this time theyll know to keep it last =)

Could care less about this thread...just testing out my new signature <insert honesty wherever applicable>

Edit: Daniel Bryan for champ at Wrestlemania

None of those matches are going too happen. If WWE already released half the WM28 card, it'd kill the build up & ppv buyrates & television views because everyone knows the big match ups already.

So maybe this is just to stir up the hornet's nest that is the IWC?

First of all Orton puts nobody over. Every feud he had he dominated. Plus got to take everything except Rock vs Cena with a grain of salt!

But who from the IWC actually goes to WWE.com lol. Still doesn't make sense to post this on their website. If this exact stuff happens at Mania and it isn't super super good I'll stop watching.

Agreed, i doubt it will just be Cena vs Rock. I have a feelign HHH will stick his nose into that one.

Punk wins RR = Punk Vs Bryan Vs Orton for the WHC.... Leaving the rest of WM to be meaningless apart from Takers match.

I want to see Punk wrestle at WM. I don't want to see ADR as champion he's the most boring star in the history of entertainment and Bryan vs Orton could be a show stealer.
